I wanted to chime in a bit, as I've had my Hot Leads for over a year now. Again, great tips about the "on the fly refill".
One thing I have to comment on is that the tiny little lighter seems to contain a huge amount of fuel. Or at least, you can seem to use it for a very long time without running out. In fact, I'd say I've used my quite a bit - doing tradeshows, restaurant work and such. It's just now gone out of fluid. But, here's the strange part... I've tried many times to refill the thing, and ran intro trouble. At first, I tried just opening up the lighter to make sure it was fairly empty, then turning it upside down and filling it up using traditional lighter refill. While it's difficult due to the small size of the body on the lighter (it generally likes to spray about a bit at first) it was difficult to know how much got in. After "refilling" it, I got maybe 3 small flames out of it. I tried a few different things, and finally emailed Jim about this. He mentioned that the manufacturer said that you should turn the flame "lever" down all the way (i.e., towards the "-" symbol.) Unfortunately to do this, you'll most likely have to completely remove the lighter from the body of the case. However, you'll quickly see it goes back on very easy. Jim recommends waiting a few hours after the refill to try it, as it will probably get extremely cold inside. I haven't had a chance to try all of this out yet (out of refill fluid, since the last attempt), but I'm curious if anyone else has run into a similar situation. Hopefully this will do the trick (and help you, should you run into the problem) - I'll let you know in the next few days after I have a chance to try... One additional point: The new company I work for has some pretty cool cards, but you have to be prepared for this type of card - and it's added reaction... The best way to describe them are "2 sided, glossy", similar to coated photo paper for inkjet printers (although they do print them in a traditional offset process, and they are also die cut for nice round corners...) They are *not* laminated. But... They do seem to soak up a good amount of fluid - similar to any other card I've had - but when you use them with Hot Leads, they tend to burn so that there's a small "bubble" formed, and if you let it burn for 1/2 second or so, it will burn like you'd expect, but then eventually "pop" - sometimes quite loudly. The first time I practiced with them, it caught me a bit off guard - as I'm sure it will for anyone you perform this for. Also, be extra careful not to get it close to anyone's face (etc.) as you should normally do with this effect. Even if it doesn't harm them, it'll likely scare the heck out of them. Anyway, thanks to Jim!! I'm half tempted to check out the new product that appears to have solved the one drawback that I was initially unhappy with but have learned to deal with (the noise).

I soak cards for quite a while and they are performance ready for about an hour. No info on the refill issues yet because my wallet is only 8 months old.
