I'm looking for an orchestral piece that will help create a meloncholy type of mood. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Tony

Hi Tony

I would recommend a couple:

Gabriel Faure: Pavane Op. 50

Eric Satie: Gymnopédie No. 1

Samuel Barber: Adagio for Strings

Take Care

When you are choosing an orchestral piece
I recommend what century of style.

And then go to a library and look at
the music section.

Check John Williams' score for Schindler's List

Also, in the recent Revenge of the Sith (also by Williams) there's a few pieces like that.

In my opinion the best part of the entire score for
the entire six episodes is in Episode Six (Return
of the Jedi) when Luke & Darthy are fighting.
Right after Darthy just found about Lea. They
entire choral part with Luke and Darthy fighting
is so emotional.

It the only part of the movie where I start to
cry...evey time!

Thanks, I'll look into those too. I've always loved John Williams.

You're SO right. That is an incredible piece. I get chills every time. Very fitting music, considering what the scene is about. Hauntingly beautiful.

Tony,

Are you looking to use it in a professional venue? Don't forget copyright issues. Check out royalty-free production music on your favorite search engine.

Most companies allow you to preview by using key words. You might be surprised at what you can find.

Try music by James Horner. Some of his movie soundtracks Titanic, Braveheart,Four Feathers, Missing and many more.
He is pretty much the master of meloncholy.
When a person starts off a factual statement with "They Say"...

Please ask, who are they?
