I have been doing 3 of the craziest ending card tricks out there. Aces to Jacks (Steve Dobson) The King Thing (Gary Kurtz) The Maxi Twist (From the Malone tapes). They all have WTF endings...
I was asking if anyone else knows or does any tricks with a killer ending like these. I talked with Zenneth Koks and he sent me a copy of his waving the aces twist. Which I would just like to say "I didn't see that coming" Find it and you'll see what I am saying.

Andrew Wimhursts incrediably commercial "Aussie Cooler" routine climaxes with 51 cards to pocket... it's hard to beat that for an unexpected twist.

I believe that 51 card to pocket ending is actually Dave Williamson's. Jerry Sadowitz has also claimed credit for it.
Whenever I find myself gripping anything too tightly I just ask myself "How would Guy Hollingworth hold this?"

I didn't mean to imply ownership of 51 cards to pocket by Wimhurst. He uses it as a conclusion to his routine (I actually use it as the conclusion to one of my routines as well), but he (and I) credit it to Dave Williamson.

Think Touch Turn from the Malone series, is REALLY a killer.

George Devol is correct, although I do think that Andrew Wimhurst's handling of the 51 cards to pocket is definitely noteworthy.

Personally, I think that the premise of your story, your narrative, is more important than the ending (or a killer ending, for that matter). And to have a tag line that cues the audience to applaud is the important ending, which also bring the narrative full circle - just check out Ron Bauer's booklets.

The version of Waving the Aces with the Quartet has quite an ending.
As does NFW. As far as ungaffed routines, Contact Colors never fails to get a great reaction. The color seperation takes everyone off guard. -Garrett |

Hey Tobias, where are you finding these crazy card tricks?
Is Contact Colors an Out of this World plot? Frank

Frank--
No, Contact Colors wouldn't really be an OOTW plot--more of a cross between Marlo's "Affinity" with a 4-ace production meets Matching the Cards. It's on one of Aldo's videos as well as in his lecture notes, Just Do It. It involves a lot of dealing, which, as I recall, you're not a big fan of--or have I confused you with someone else? For strange/killer endings, my "Twisting the Night Away" and "Wake Me at Ten" might find favor with some.

I think that The Gambler VS. The Magician, is a very entertaining and hard hitting type of trick, something they would never expect... I got a good reaction, one guy would just shake his head in amazament whenever he saw me after that performance
Cheers, Logan

Take a look at my video here:
http://www.magicvideodepot.com/view.php?a=v&t=194 It's 'Misdirection Monte' and I think it has a pretty good 'killer' ending. Cheers, Jamie.

I used to do a card stab with a twist ending. I covered the cards in a paper napkin then got a knife and stabbed the deck. I tore the paper away, and low and behold I had stabbed the card alright. Because it was the only one left! The rest of the deck had vanished!
I will have to start using this again. It always got a great reaction. Chad |

This may sound a little lame, but the ending to Out Of This Universe, where the reds and backs are separated, after the red/black prediction in the middle pile, always kills. It's done when the audience thinks the effect is over.
Never fail to play. Later..... Steve |

Seems to be the same effect that Guy Hollingworth did on a Lance Burton Special. Can you tell me, is it suitable for table hopping, ie... easy reset problems with angles, etc. Regards Scott |

If you want a good trick that starts with twisting and ends with a complete change of the cards, you can always try Phil Goldsteins "No-Gaff differential" found in his book "Focus". Pretty much the same effect as "NFW" but completely gaffless.

Ok, lets see if I can get this in one take.
Frank, the tricks are found by looking for them. Sorry that sounds harsh but you have to look around to find the killer effects. I just talk to other magicians and ask what they are doing. jbadman, the misdirection monte was a good idea but the performer falsed his switches. I like Jack Carpenters Monte plot. The ending is killer. Zennth Zoks waving the aces plot is really clean and the reset is cool. From his mouth direct. Last the 51 cards to pocket plot is cool. I love it and I use 2 different methods, the standard way and then John Carneys card on forehead method. Sometimes together... Plain and simply, this is what I was told by My freind Steve And Robert. "Find what fooled you and do that." So far it has worked out great. Thanks for the post back guys and I hope to read even more soon...

David Acer's Swiss deck gets my vote, gets laymen every time, Great Climax!
Fearsons Card in Ceiling is a good twist on an existing concept.
