If the quest is to find a way to perform ungimmicked 20th Century Silks, this download fills the bill.

The author, Michael Sibbernsen, claims the PDF file offers the following advantages over standard 20th Century Silks:

1) Uses ungimmicked silk handkerchiefs
2) Has the ability of using and substituting any center handkerchief, regardless of color or design. It is therefore perfect for interchanging logo, holiday or adage silks.
3) Allows the performer to untie the center handkerchief at the end of the routine for use in another effect.

Does the effect live up to its claims? Yes.

This is an alternate method of handling the silks, not the full effect. You need to know/have 20th Century Silks in order to use this material.

The PDF is well-written, providing a clear explanation and has numerous quality color photographs.

Comment: Untieing the center silk at the end of the routine involves awareness of your angles, but you can offer a clean silk (with logo, addage or art) as promised.

Difficulty. 2/5
1=Even I can do it, 2=No sleights, but some misdirection required, 3=Some sleights used, 4=Advanced sleights used, 5=Suitable for experienced magicians only

Rating. Effectiveness: 9/10
Value for money:10/10

The cost is $5.00. It can be found on magic-notes.com.

Jeremy,

You need to have "situational awareness" when you handle the silks. Tying the two silks together is natural. The reveal at the end involves handling that is probably a bit diferent than what you are used to, however, it isn't back-palming a deck of cards and is logical, especially if you plan on untying the center silk.

Once the center silk is untied, that silk is 100% clean.

I would agree that there is somehandling that is out of the normal and will take some getting used to in the reveal.

I am not used to writing these reviews but I hope this will help.

For the money, it is a good bargin. It offers a workable and practical solution to using ungimmicked silks. I think the handling is no easier that other ungimmicked 20th century silks. You can not handle them as opening as a prepared set in some ways but it is workable. It is not as clean at the finish as for exsample Neil Foster's method. There is an extra something that you will have to get rid of before using the three silks at the end.

All in all worth the money and it may fit the bill for you. I personally prefer Neil's method or the prepared set when I do not plan on using the silks for anything else.

Is the file still available? I cannot seem to find it on the magicnotes site.
