Party poker.com...and all the otheres. What happened to getting together with strangers and playing cards with them. Go to a bar or pub and play cards.
E-mail - what happened to writting a letter, putting a postage stamp on it and mailing it? What, you can't wait? Instant messaging - What? Are you sick of picking up the phone and calling someone or even worse, getting off your butt and going to visit them in person? ARG!!!! Man, I wish in 2000 computers went crazy and stopped working. It would really suck to have to do things in person again. ***end rant***

I don't understand why you hate computers. It's not that people can't wait to send a letter or don't want to meet people in person to talk, but computers make it easier. I'm sure people were saying the same types of things when cars first started replacing other forms of transportation in the early 20th century.
People say these things as if new inventions are a bad thing, but the truth is that a lot of people are afraid of technology and evolution. I can just imagine in a few decades, hearing people say things like, "Why do you always have to teleport everywhere? What ever happened to using cars?" or, "Using that holographic communicator again? What's wrong with good old-fashioned Instant Messaging when you want to talk with people? Shane Wiker |

Hmmm...
My granparents didn't have phones, cars, electricity, flush toilets, VCRs, cell phones, televisions, etc (no electroncs of any kind) (Ice boxes and wood stoves... yes). My parents got their first television, first party line phone (Agggg), and saw the first cartoons in color on TV. We went from coal heat to gas heat. I got the first VIC20 then Commodore 64, then PC. Played space invaders and pong. My kids saw the First movies on VCRs, owned Cell phone before me and have the latest in computers. For Father's day I got my first satalite radio from my son. They got over the years, every playstation, sega genis, N64, and xbox ever made. They now have plasma TVs.. Oh what does tomorrow hold in store? I know the internet is in it's infancy and remember my first BBS on the PC256. I now own a tera-byte of storage digital flatscreen Alienware Gaming Computer, as well as numerous laptops and desktops floating around the house. (Also 4 DVDs) Right now I'm on the Gaming Computer, my daughter is making wedding plans on the wireless laptop, my son is beating the best gamers on the Xbox playing Halo, and my wife is checking her email on her computer, while watching her favorite shows on the Televison. My eldest son is putting togeter an new system (with leftover parts fom my older systems) so his girfriend doesn't get on his computer and load it with Adware. Give all this up so we can sit by the fireplace and play charades. Naw I don't think so. By the way we do have a getaway house in the Poconos that doesn't have any computer and one Xbox for my son's addition.
