Had my car broken into and some of my equiptment was stolen -
Among the missing items was my pair of shackles - you know the ones made of the oblong loop of chromed steel bar and 4 pieces of chain. When to the local shop to replace it and all they have are really whimpy looking things that don't look anything like real restraint devices. Does anyone have a good source for a good looking version of this prop? thanks Peter Gross http://www.funnymagic.com PS feel free to make jokes about someone 'breaking into' my car to steal lock picking equiptment |

The only pair I ever owned was through Abbott's. That was over 10 years ago but I remember the quality and price being good.
Check their website.

Just a thought. Why not use something like this Click Here! as it's made from a real handcuff rather than being a magicians prop.

Ros;
You know I looked through the Cannon's catalog, but I didn't notice these. I just ordered them. Thanks! Peter |

Peter,
Are you working the Maryland Renaissance Festival again this summer? Liked your website, it’s classy! Hey! I really like that domain name. I would be willing to buy it from you for everything I made this past winter …say… $22.50! I’ll even toss in my Gary Animal cups (OK, I lost one but you can do a two, dented cups, and dirty balls routine!). Whatdaya say? By the way folks, Peter’s Dream (his version of the Miser’s Dream) using a small child from the audience is a classic and very funny. I go out of my way at the Maryland Renaissance Fair to watch this routine. Yes, I like his other stuff too, but for me this is frosting on the cake! And NO Peter doesn’t know me. I am just a bit of a fan of his work!

Dooley explains how to gimmick a pair of cuffs (S&W's) to make a quick escape. Seems simple enough, but you have to make sure not to go too far with the process or else they'll be ruined. For more information, send me a PM and I'll be more than happy to share.
Good luck! Daniel |

Do not mean at all to be rude but since when did oval loop pansies look anything like real restraint devices even if they are very thick? PS Sorry to hear about your loss. Being thieved from is horrible. |

Is this what you're talking about?
http://www.penguinmagic.com/product.php?ID=957 And who cares if they look like a real restraint device to us on the inside. What matters is that they look tough to get out of by the spectators. |

I agree, Reis. That is my issue with them.
