I was having a slight problem at certain tables during my sponge ball routine where the balls would roam the table or even fall to the floor due to an uneven table. (and gravity of course) I thought about changing the routine so a ball would never touch the table, but I really like the current routine which is some in my hand, some in their hand and some on the table at different times during the set...long story short I brought along my breakaway wand one night (which I usually use only in my stage show) but I found it curled nicely into a small pocket and so I was going to hand it to the dad's and have it break apart and then I found that afterward if I laid it on the table, I could curl it toward me or away from me depending on the direction that the balls want to roll and it would keep the little guys at bay!

Just thought I would share this here, anyone else use something different?

Good idea! I've also heard that some performers try to ensure that anything they have to put on a table will fit on a small side plate that they carry around with them from table to table.

You could try using the sponge squares. That will end the problem of them rolling away.

When I could normally set a sponge ball down, I tuck it behind my lapel, such that it peeks out. You could set an elastic hair tie on the table to put the props in - that would keep them from rolling. An open change purse or purse frame would work, too.

Sponge rabbits! These are great....I love the Goshman set, but you can't go wrong with Daryl's routine. The byplay you get out of these are great. Just the fact they are "someting." Not just your balls......

I get a much better response from sponge bunnies than I do with regular SBs. You can actually give your bunnies "life" and "Personality" .

Thanks, I have a rabbit routine as well (ammar). My sponge ball routine is still my prefered set - color changes take place, splitting into multiples, my hand to theirs, ball thru table, etc.

The rabbits are cool, I just find kids relate to balls very well though.
