Just curious,
how many of you use flash powder? If so, how do you use it as opposed to just using flash paper? ![]()

I use it in combination with paper.
Dove pan for ex. Makes a longer lasting and bigger flash. Also in flash pots when I need that something extra

I guess I am "gunshy" about flash powder. Although I use about every flaming effect I can get my hands on, I have thusfar avoided flash powder.
As a teenager, I had a homemade firecracker (using gunpowder) turn into a torch, pointed at my hand, and it made quite a painful, and lasting impression. So I just stay away from it for personal reasons. Also there have been more than a few reported accidents with it, and that just reinforces my concern. Some day, I may need a different flash effect that I can get from paper, and cotton and I guess if I had a "real" need to use flash powder, I would do it - very carefully...... BroDavid

I assume that flash powder is the same as sparkling powder in Germany. Is that right?
If yes, here is my reply: I like to use this powder in combination with flash cotton filled in handflasher - a clever device. I use it as opener - flash and bang, in Kerman called "Knallerbse"- Suddenly I have the attention. Magically yours Manipulix ![]()
