Hi All,
All right, so I just got off the phone with my Fiancee who has gone away for the weekend. Aparently someone who lives right near the Trapeze school she was training at was giving away free kittens. So this evening I will be recieving a furry little gift. Only problem...I need a NAME! I'd like to go for a magic name just to be cliche. So far it's looking like Cheshire (as in Alice in Wonderland)...I would however like to go for something magical. Melinda, Julianna Chen...any others? Thanks! Chris.

My wife brought a kitten home once...I started calling it Skilos (Skee-Lows). She loved the name until she discovered years later that the word is Greek for dog. Some people have NO sense of humor!

Scott you're full of great ideas! I rather like the Bond idea. I also just happen to love bond movies.
Skip that's brilliant. Anyone else? These are great! -Chris.

One of the greatest female magicians today is Dorothy Dietrich. One of her trick pets name is Sparky. I also like the name Sophie for a kitten

during the 50' she was hot and did magic. Besides, I think it is a good cat name. Here is a picture of her. http://www.zauberzentrale.de/img/screenshots/ kalanag/gross/karten.jpg |

Excuse me, er, but why does everyone assume the cat's going to be female?
If it has to be female what about Adara, it's Celtic (middle welsh) meaning "catches birds" |

You know if you have an orange tabby which is female, that kitten is a rarity. Almost all orange marmalade cats in the feline world are male. The opposite is true for Calico's as they always female. You wanted to give your kitty a female name so I'm assuming your orange tabby is female. So if you aren't mistaken then you have a very rare kitten.
The names that came to mind aren't necessarily all female names but could be used for either sex. Marlo Merlin Maven Melinda Tabitha Sabrina Falcor (the luck dragon) Dragon (name of the cat in secret of Nhymm books) Jeannie Let us know what name you chose and enjoy many years with the kitten! Thanks everyone!
She now has a name. I've decided to call her "Nymo" after my home town, "Nanaimo" Brittish Columbia. Thanks for all the great ideas! -Chris.

Congratulations on the new addition. I hope you are 'finding Nymo' a lot of fun. (Sorry, couldn't resist it.)

You will be "Feeding Nymo" as well as cleaning out the litterbox (sorry, couldn't resist a baaad pun). Is she actually an orange tabby?

Yes, I am a magician. No I did not make my hare (hair) disappear... it just took early retirement.

Haha no but it would be neat. She's grey and white and very tiny. My family in BC is all thrilled that I named the kitten after a place right near where I grew up.
Off to feed the animal! -Chris.

Hi Again,
Oops I misunderstood, and thought it was an orange kitty as you said ,"looks like Cheshire as in Alice in Wonderland. I then assumed it was an orange marmalade cat. Love the name Nymo!! Other choices could also have been Saturna, Gabriola or Mudge..ha ha. (Those familiar to that area will know what I mean.) Nymo was the best choice and very unique. May you enjoy many years with your new kitten. Chrystal |

Just over a year ago we popped into the RSPCA centre looking for a cat. We emerged owning two, Siamese crosses that my daughter renamed Benson and Bramble ( although Benson and Hedges was my thought ). As you say Mandrake, they may be our children's pets but who empties that litter tray each day, and ensures they're fed and watered, and pays for the innoculations, and the worming, and the flea treatment, and the insurance, and replacing damaged items around the home ...
Love 'em to bits really.
We're having a laugh!
