I own the original MPD. I think it is the best deck I have bought. The effect is to good, so clean, so mental!

John Bannon has an effect as pure as Kennedy Deck/Koran Deck that uses a completely ungimmicked deck.

Check Smoke and Mirrors. And btw, the Mind Power Deck is way superior to Bannon's ungimmicked method.

It's on the Smoke and Mirrors video and in the book. The name of the effect is Outer Limits.

I am thinking about getting this trick, but does it ever seem odd to your spectators that you sometimes simply do not know if their card is high, low, etc?

Howdy ZAM!, it's all in your presentation. Like a lot of mentalism, there are ways to phrase a statement which actually elicites a response that will, thru subtle clues, give you the answer you need. An overblown way of saying that with practice, your audience won't know what hit them. Great effect...get it!
And you might want to check out Richard Osterlind's DVD volume 1 of Mind Mysteries. He discusses at length just such subtleties. Great stuff! Derek |

Try Trevor Duffy's Phil deck.[quote] Actually, Phil Goldstein is a co-author of that deck. They both developed the idea (and the name, "Phil," was pure coincidence!) -- now the trick is distributed with both of their names on it. |

I just got MPD Saturday, have shown it to her twice, then shown it to my parents, with my wife taking part for a third time. She has been totally amazed every time. This is a STRONG effect. Well worth the $40. |

I incorporate Derren Browns (i hope I'm crediting the right person!) method of starting with "See it and repeat it out loud in your mind... for instance -KoD KoD KoD!" about 1 in 3 males get caught straight away without any "guesswork" and if you're wrong - no ones the wiser just continue with the routine and you're now down to 1 in 7! Like in "smoke" I have already removed the "normal" ones so that after respreading the deck (to find their card has disappeared!) I end with a killer "thought card to wallet"

I forgot to add - I still use the original deck and add a bicycle joker and Ace of Spades to each end of the deck

I do the routine 'smoke' by Derren all the time. It gets a great reaction. Only problem is that I don't smoke so I don't enjoy performing the effect
It is deffinatly a great effet to do if you have the right situation to perform it. Jon |

This is a small handling that may benefit, not tried it though.Have one of the force cards on the face of deck,as you patter before the effect, gesture the card psychologically. This should eliminate it.Then tell them not to choose a particular card(Ace of Spades maybe?)as its too obvious.leaves you 5 cards to fish.If you use Derrens patter to start also, leaves you 4(assuming you don't hit)Easy eh?

Hi everyone,
I'm thinking of using the clever utility to make a thought-of-card-to-impossible loacation. Well....like Derren Brown's routine, read their mind and the card actually appears somewhere in the wallet .etc. But the problem is.... how can I have so many cards in my wallet~? Some cards can be eliminated...but still too much. Any ideas? I'm not sure the idea of Harry H will work....will they discover that there are many 'eliminated card'? Henry |

Can anyone tell me where I can purchase either version of the Mindpower deck online? Anywhere I've checked, it's been out of stock.
Take care, Phil

Is the original non-bicycle backed deck cheaper? If so where can I find that version?
