Last night I attended a superb concert by REM in Ipswich. Two hours of brilliant entertainment, starting with an emotional Everybody Hurts in remembrance of the London dead, but also a celebration of life.
So, a couple of REM puzzles for you. I nice easy one to start with. What is interesting numerically about REM. And how does Michael Stipe connect The Pope, Oranges, Mountains, Reflection, and Rubber.

No REM takers? Shame, and I thought it was fairly easy. Certainly the numerical aspect is.
As far as that somewhat diverse group of objects is concerned, they are connected to Michael stipe, but not necessarily in that order.

Michael Stipe once shared an orange with the Pope while the looked at their reflection in a mountain stream while wearing rubber waders?

That could definitely be the lyrics from one of their songs, but, surprise, surprise, is not correct.

Only M ( 1000 ).
With a couple of symbols you can write REM as a very simple formula.

Correctamundo. 18 = 5 + 13.
One down and just that rather unusual list to go.

How long of a holiday do Mike and Juliet get?

There you go, Stan. Nothing to it.
And they get as long a holiday as Charlie and Oscar, although not in Quebec in November.
