I saw a post mentioning Marshall, got a me a bit curious, what is he doing now? if you're like me you loved watching him on the bozo show while growing up. Or you even bought his sets, and what not.
So where is he today? does he have a website?

I saw him perform at a show called Nothing Up My Sleeve which is a charitable show and features many of the Chicagoland magicians. I think he's retired but occasionally I see Marshall Brodien Jr. hanging out at local magic clubs so I'll remember to ask him what he's up to.

I know about the toys, I'm just wondering if he still performs at all, and what else is he doing.

Marshall still performs at various events around the Chicago area. He is one of the all time great guys in magic and I hope he never stops. My very first magic trick was performed on the Bozo show in 1992 and meeting him was an experience I will never forget. Both he and Roy Brown were a laugh a minute to work with.

Thank you, definently very good to know he's still alive and kicking. I remember my set with a 100 tricks and the card board magician's table. I still use some of the tricks from that set from time to time.

Marshall is still Marshall.
Just becoming stranger. I know he's been busy with the book, John Moerhing is writing about him. He was with Mark Holstien when he wrote the article about my dad last year, always says his memory isn't as sharp as my dad's. Everything is amazing to him. Like a kid. I get a kick out of that. We saw him a month ago, Mary was with him. Always good to see Mary.

Marshall remains very active in the development of magic products -still the most successful line of magic sets in the history of magic. He is also very active as a performer, making regular appearances in Chicago, live and on television. He and I will be hosting the 4th annual "Nothin' Up my Sleeve" in Crystal Lake on September 24th. (joined by Chezaday, Dan Sperry, Circus Boy and the Balsters). Marshall and I will also host a fund-raiser on October 22 in Wauconda. He remains on of magic's great ambassadors.

He and Doug were big influences for me growing up. I owned quite a few of his products.

Marshall Brodien and Mark Holstein will host the 'Jackie's Magic 2005 Food Drive' On Saturday, October 22, 2005. This is a fund-raiser in my daughter's honor. My daughter Jackie was tragically killed in an auto accident in December 2003. She was a full time student, worked full time, taught religious education to second graders, played piano in the church choir and taught aerobics at three different health clubs. After the accident, we found her trunk full of food. She had been collecting food for the neady for the holiday season. It was hard to imagine when she could find the time to squeeze this in. This will be the second annual food drive. This year Marshall and Mark have graciously accepted the offer to help us collect food for the needy. The food drive will be held at The Boehm Center at St. Patrick's Church at 15000 Wadsworth Road in Wadsworth Illinois (between Chicago and Milwaukee, WI.). The doors will open at 6:00 PM and be open until 9:30 PM. We are asking for donations of non-perishable food items or a cash donation to the St. Patrick's Food Pantry. The magic show will begin at 7:00 PM and go until 8:30 PM. The show will be hosted by both Marshall Brodien and Mark Holstein. Other performers will be Sue Holstein, Dan Sperry, Magic Sam Pope, Freddy Fredricks, Magic Steve Jordan and myself (Jim Stanislawski). You can view a web site with further info at: http://home.comcast.net/~magic_show/index.html
Watch for information on WGN Morning News on Channel 9 in Chicago (and on cable TV) and Comcast cable. If you are in the area please stop by the show. Hope to see you there. Regards, Jim |

I should also add that I cannot thank both Marshall Brodien and Mark Holstein enough for everything they have done to help with this event. Marshall and Mark & Sue Holstein are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. They have made planning this event so much easier and so much fun. They have been instrumental in helping to get the event set up.
Regards, Jim |
