Ok, if you had 3 minutes to perform a 'Routine' for a competition in front of magicians, what would you do. I have too much magic to look through and have until Thursday. I am not looking for anything new, but possible just a memory jogger. The competition is 8 minutes and so far I am openeing with John Bannons Strangers Gallery, followed by Beyond Fabulous from his new book Dear Mr Fantasy. Obviously I don't want to switch decks as to me it screams set up deck and takes more time. I don't want to perform an ACR as I have showed this quite abit, and though I like my routine for this, I want something different to that. I considered David Williamsons Cocktail Dazzler, but that I think is too difficult to learn by now, any ideas will be greatly appreciated, thanks, and no gaffs!!! If I get nothing, then I shall probably do the memory test

You say you have too much magic to look through, so why not list some of the things you do have and then maybe someone can recommend something from that book,dvd,video..etc.
Just a thought

Not to rain on your parade, but maybe you shouldn't be planning on competing this Thursday then??? How realistic is this, you have a day left, I believe, and you don't even have your repertoire down?

I could, I know what to perform, I have my usual act that I could easily do, but have found that the samold same old just doesn't work there, its only a cirlce competition too, nothing huge. At the moment, it is between the memory test and 4-5-6 packet trick

Both the 4-5-6 packet trick and the memory test (I'm assuming that you are talking about Sal's memory opener?) are both very nice, hard-hitting tricks. But, if you already have an opener, I'd say go with the 4-5-6 packet trick. Make it a string finish! Smile

Yes, my opener is john bannons colour changing deck, followed by his beyond fabulous then either sals 4-5-6 packet trick, or david williamsons excellent memory test, though I think, 4-5-6 I shall stick with

Do off-beat classics work? Marlo's Bluff Ace Assembly, things like that.

I'm sorry..... but in my opinion, rising card should be very well known, if its a circle competition...
I would suggest hand in hnnd cards across, and I just came up with the handling, but its quite difficult to get the cards to align.
take a look at generation x if you happen to have enough time. it should be quite a routine, if you do it cleanly.
if not, take a look into laser deal and lennart green. that should be good for more than 3 minutes.
