Can anyone help? The ends of my appearing 8 foot pole are splitting. What can I do?

You could tape it from the inside, or buy contact paper that looks like the wood grain on the pole...or you could buy or make yourself a new one...I make all of my appearing products with supplies from wal-mart...it costs about $4.00 to make the appearing poles, straws, wands, etc...

Thanks. I am glad you like the instructions. The way I look at most magic props is: SOMEBODY had to BUILD this in the first place...Now...if they could BUILD it...why can't I? Once you understand the apparatus. You can build almost any magic prop. I build MANY of my own props for less than a fraction of the cost of the original marketed effect. I think the one I got out the cheapest on was the Cardiographic pad ($4.50). A friend showed me the method that is used for the trick and gave me one he made. After I used it to the point of "fallapartdom" I built a new one. Some magicians out there really enjoy certain effects, but have a low budget...so they cannot afford to buy many products. This is why it is best for people like that to make their own. I only buy a magic prop if I cannot make it just as nice, or if it would be too much trouble to make it.
Here is a link to the pics of my HOME MADE suitcase table: http://img.mypicgallery.com/magic-photos/mini1_large.jpg http://img.mypicgallery.com/magic-photos/mini2_large.jpg http://img.mypicgallery.com/magic-photos/mini3_large.jpg http://img.mypicgallery.com/magic-photos/mini4_large.jpg It is larger than most and is one of the best that I along with many dealers that I showed it to have seen. THe thing is so tough you can drop it off the back of a truck and it won't even knock a dent in it! I thank my dad and grandad for all the help, along with David Allen (magician) for the GREAT upholstery work. I used to own a large MacMagic version of a suitcase table but they do not last long due to pop rivets. This is a One of a kind, durable, heavy duty, nice looking suitcase table! I am trying to convince my dad to sale them. I know he could make a good profit at conventions and such. I believe I had about $200-$250 in this table. And it is nicer than almost any you could buy...especially at that price! Let me know what you guys think! Kyle |

Kyle, very nice table. I too built my own, one that flips up much like your's and one that does not. The second cost me about $75.00 in material and alittle time. If I bought it, probably would've cost me close to $300.00 plus shipping.
Dad, magic, ventriloquism, facepainter & balloons.
