The coded clue is:

No guesses? Does the incredible Stanalger want to take a stab at it? To help you with the clue: You are looking for a synonym for "lie" and the further clues spell it out. It is an abbreviated spelling of something, that I used to encode the entire thing.

Alright, this has gone too long without a solution. I am giving everyone 48 hours to solve it or, at the very least, start guessing at it, otherwise I will decode it for you and explain my method.

Edit: Were you just changing it so that you showed me that you knew it without giving away the "real" answer?

I cannot fib. You can rearrange the letters of
"It wasted me" to get the "real" answer.

I realized that the two were anagrams of each other, which is why I figured you must have solved it.

And I have no problem with you revealing it, since no one else seemed to be able to get it (you even solved it after I imposed a time limit). I must say, your ability to solve whatever ciphers we create is unbelievable. Let me just say, "Wow!"

"Fib" can mean "lie"
or it can be an abbreviation for Fibonacci.

Though most (including Dan Brown of _The DaVinci Code_ fame)
consider the Fibonacci sequence of numbers to begin
1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89,....,
mathematicians sometimes like to start the sequence with
0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34,...

You took a two-word phrase and shifted
the first letter 0 positions forward in the alphabet,
the second letter 1 position forward in the alphabet,
the third letter 1 position forward in the alphabet,
the fourth letter 2 positions forward in the alphabet,
the fifth letter 3 positions forward in the alphabet,
etc.

(The alphabet is considered to be circular, so the letter
after Z is A.)

I deciphered by shifting the first letter 0 positions back,
the second letter 1 position back, etc.

The result: WASTED TIME.

WASTED TIME can be rearranged to spell IT WASTED ME.

Well everything is correct...except for "Footpath." While it does work, what I was getting at was "Floor" without it's "tale." Tale(s) is often analagous to "lore" so "floor" minus "lore/loor" give you "F." But I purposesly used "Tale" so that even if you didn't think of lore you would still think to remove the ending.

Altogether, very impressive. That cipher has been floating around in my head for a while now, and I am glad to see it solved finally. Next time, I will make it even more difficult Stan, becuase we all know that the ultimate goal for any of us is to stump you. Unfortunately I'm starting to think that might be impossible.

I thought "tale" was simply a misspelling of "tail."
Since misspellings/typos are so common here, I didn't
think twice about it.

The puzzle as originally posted (without the additional
clues) was way too open-ended.

It could have been a simple substitution enciphered
"BLAINE LINK"...or countless other messages.
