I was hired to do a Bar Mitzvah and the client asked that I hand out 60 magic tricks for the kids to take home. She requested that the quality not be junk, but it need not be professional quality. Anyone know where I can buy in bulk?? Thanks!!

This is the coin slide we hand out to children in hospitals:
http://www.hobbytron.com/Magic-Coin-Slide.html Seems to work well for kids up to 12 or even 14 if they're really into magic. It's a real winner. The presentation is better if you remove the packaging before you hand them out. We don't buy them through hobbytron.com so you may be able to find it cheaper. Beware of real cheap black coin slides that are sold online. They break as you have to jam them to make the slide move all of the way. |

Coin slides are good, but may be considered "junk".
Two card montes would be an option too. Buy a pack each of double backs and faces and type up instructions - a great giveaway. You can even buy Svengali decks or stripper decks super cheap here: http://www.magic4u.com/shop/MNO.html Look for "Magic Long Short Cards #6949" or "Magic Taper Cards #6959 They are, of course, imported bridge size cards, but at $1.25, who cares?

Try Chu's magic.
I got spot card, magic compass, block escape, ball vase, spike coin, etc. etc. for about 20c apiece. The quality is good on all the ones I mentioned, but beware some others (coin slide, snapper, etc.).

Much of this depends upon the client's budget, of course, but considering much of these tricks will be immediately exposed to everyone, and tossed as fast as a Chucky Cheese prize, why not consider a book of general beginner tricks or card tricks? It won't likely look like junk, the info will only be spread as fast as someone can read, learn, and then perform, and in the long run, you might just educate a few kids to the art of magic.
