I seen this trick preformed out on the street, I don't know what it is called, but I will try to describe it here......

You ask someone for a one dollar bill, fold it long ways, then fold it in half. Next you ask someone for a writing pen. You take the writing pen and put it int the fold of the dollar bill, and as if you were sawing the bill with the writing pen, the writing pen cuts its way through the one dollar bill, leaving no damage at all to the one dollar bill. You give the one dollar bill and the writing pen back to there respected owners.

Where on the internet can I learn to do this trick for FREE? Please help?

If this is what I think you're talking about it's called Mislead. It is available through many magic dealers. But this effect is done with a No. 5 type of pencil, not a pen.

There is another effect where a pen is used and it is stabbed through the bill but this is a different effect and is not using a borrowed pen.

Why not splash out and get the perfect pen through anything? A pretty slick effect.

By the way, I don't think you'll be able to get that trick for free.

Rock, I have to rebuke you a little for asking where you can go to learn a specific illusion for free. That's bad form.

Creators of magical effects deserve the money they make for selling them to others. Misled, for example, is a great illusion using an ordinary pencil and (preferably) a $100 bill. I'll admit that I've had to plant a bill of that size in the audience before, because the people I perform for don't carry that much with them regularly. Usually I get 20's or even 5's.

If you want to be a magician, you have to be willing to invest a little in what you want to learn. Buy some books, buy some videos. The trading pages right on this web site are full of people who will sell you stuff second-hand. The Hundy 500 effect I wrote you about in another post I got from someone on here.

Nothing good comes for free. Learn it now.

I agree with Carrie. Magic is an Investment. I have an effect that I am scared to death to market because of things like this. I put in a lot of effort to create my effect and hard work. If you are in magic to get things for free, Then I suggest you get out!

Magic is not only an investment but an education/skills that pay dividends down the road. If you are a student or a person not employed full time, you can go to your local library. And I apologied for my posting typo before Mr Corey Harris's. I meant to say my "Mentor" not menton.

Once again, I want to appologize to each and every person, Magicians and Spectators alike, for posting this post. I am truly sorry for offending each and every one of you. But if you were in my shoes, you would have totaly understood why I asked to learn it for free. But as I said, I do appologize for posting this, I am sorry!

This whole thing goes back to ethics. Let me ask you something. If you were to create an effect, spend the time and money to market the effect wouldnt you be a little ticked off if you found it exposed for people to just be able to do it? If you are serious about magic, Invest the money into it. It can get extremley expensive. I myself am a junkie for magic books, I am buying a new magic book probally about once a week in a lot of cases. If you ask any body here how much money they invest in their magic you would be suprised at how much money we spend in a given year. If money is a big issue for you then just master what material you have now, There is nothing wrong with that. Put a jar out that you dump spare change into and make that your magic jar. Go to Lybrary.com they have tons of Ebooks that you can get for very cheap. THey are excellent as well. Many of us here at the Café are more than happy to help you with things, But please for future don't ask for things for free.
