I find I am returning to my roots.
I plan to do some shows in nursing homes.
I'd like to suggest a new topic area "Performing for the eldery"

it could go under the "Stage, Platform and Parlour" section or the
"Special Interests" section where there is alread a "The little darlings" topic.

When I first started performinig in public I did shows at nursing homes and was a big hit, but 40 years have passed and I don't think I can pull off my "Cute for a 10 year old" act anymore now that I'm over 50. So an area where informatiom might be exchanged reguarding this special and unique audience.

another area of interest is "performing on an outdoor stage." It's been a hot and windy summer and I've seen several shows now where the performer has been blinded by the sun and the flood of salty sweat flowing into there eyes. I've also seen a large number of props and playing cards blown away by sundden gusts of wind.

So two topic suggestions.

Very interesting KERDUNGE, Locally we are weekly asked to perform on beaches and parks, having done so one in the open with no cover (at behest of an elder magician to fill in for them) I just don't do it anymore, but realize I may be turning down revenue just because of hostile conditions. The situation is truly a "Challenge" but maybe it can be done. For the adventurous its Topic-worthy in my opinion, if nothing but an Academic discussion.

Does the performer carry his own fast-set tent or other shelter? Sound sustem too? Only work select areas? Pass it off to another type of performer?

At what point do you yield to wind, rain? Does the client pay anyway if weather blows the party off the map?

The people who plan such events obviously know very little about magic, at least spectacular visual magic. What do they really expect? How can we surpass their expectations? Are they really willing to pay a decent rate?

How does one overcome the many distractions and unknown elements that may hit? (Do we prepare a list of "Event'lines" for some rather predictable interruptions: Crying babies, Free-Running Dogs, Crashing Kites? Uncle Ferd after Chili?

I've worked Renn Faires but even those have much thought going into them weeks prior with backup from fellow workers and usually some type of backing or shelter.

For those in moderate climates, this is a topic of much interest.

Good one.
