I am very interested in the origins of the Rice Bowls. This is one of my favorite effects that I perform on the street and I want to know where it came from if anyone knows. Thanks for your help in advance. I perform with the Owens Rice Bowls.

My understanding is that like the 20th Century Silks, the rice bowls as we know them today were invented by magician/magic dealer Frank Ducrot, who lived in Brooklyn and ran Martinka's Magic shop.

There is an expression among the Chinese about the iron bowl. Not a nice thing. If you change the patter to India and use saffron rice or similar you could have a nice thing.

Jonathan, what's the saying? I thought the iron rice bowl was considered a good thing. In China anyway.
