Hi
I'm looking for a book that is about presentation and character. Any suggestions? Thanks. |

Look for anything by Max Howard, especially "Effective Presentations". Woody Pittman has a small book out on character development. Rudy Colby lecture notes are also worth looking into.
"America's Foremost Satirical Magician" -- Jeff McBride.

Showmanship For Magicians by Dariel Fitzkee
Magic And Showmanship by Henning Nelms Strong Magic by Darwin Ortiz These three books are classics on the topic and well worth reading. Uli |

I second Uli's suggestions. All three of those books are classics in my opinion. To the list I would add Juan Tamariz's Five Points of Magic and The Magic Way.
Thanks, Richard Green

There is a book called Acting for Magicians. It is like a workbook that will help you develope a character. You may also look into Jamy Ian Swiss's new book Shattering Illusions. It has some great essays including some on character and presentation.

limhanchung,
I would also recommend reading Our Magic & Neo Magic Artistry. Also, watching the 3 DVD/Video set by Eugene Burger will help you work through the work ahead of you.... Best wishes in your work! Be magic ~ Fredrick

You can contact the publisher at
http://www.miraclefactory.org/ I do not know if it is still in print. If not, check with H & R Books at http://www.magicbookshop.com/ They may be able to find a second hand copy. All the best in your exploration! Be magic ~ Fredrick
