Hi everyone.

I am looking for a wirless microphone system. I have found 2 on ebay that look good, but am not sure which one to go for as I don't really understand all the technical stuff. My budget is around $500-600 if anyone can suggest other units but the two I am looking at are:

- Audio Technica ATW-2110 UHF Wireless Unipak Transmitter System with CountrymanIsomax E6 Lightweight Headset Microphone. This can be found at:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/AUDIO-TECHNICA-ATW......ViewItem

- Audio Technica ATW600 Wirelss UHF Bodypack System with Countryman E6 Isomax Earset Mic. This can be found at:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?V......amp;rd=1

I live in the Uk and will be buying this from the US. I have a power converter. Will I run in to problems conecting it to speaker bought in the UK?

Thanks for any help anyone can give me.

Best wishes

Hi Darren

Check out the operation voltage.

You should be able to get a power pack here in uk
without having to use the converter. Cost £10/15.

You should have no problem connecting to your amp.

UHF is a good choice.

Have you considerd buying same in the UK?

Are you considering this unit because of the Mic or reciever.

I am in UK (Peterborough) feel free to contact me.

Hi Colin.

Thanks for the info on the power pack. I found out that one of my friends has a converter that I can borrorw but I will look in to other power packs that I can buy.

Actually ordered one last night. I thought of buying from America because of the good exchange rate plus I was easier for me to pay using paypal.

I was buying it for the whole set (mic and reciever). I bought a cheap set out of Maplins made by ProSound but it was not very good.

Thanks for the advice. Im thinking of getting some new speakers as well. Is there any you can recommend.

Hi Darren

When say speakers do you already have a Amp?

Depends on where you work.

I currently use a Peavey escort for larger shows (schools) and an Apollo 5400
for smaller venues (houses)

I have used Bose, Coomber as well in the pass.

Hope it helps.

Regards

Colin

Ps Are you aware you will have to pay tax on goods from the states over £18 value

I brought a $400 amp and had to pay £72 duty.

Hi Colin.

Already have a small Amp by Carlsbro. Just thought of getting a new one.

I will have a look at the ones you mentioned, thanks.

They are declaring it as a gift so hopefully that should help with the customs fees, but I have some money put by incase I have to pay anything.

Thanks for your help

Do a search on the Café, you'll find a lot of information. The consensus seems to be leave it alone.
