There is this effect called "Creature" By Keith Something. I was wondering what your take on that is. I have been interested in this effect for so long now and I would really LOVE some reviews! Thanks...Nick

Eh, for me it was one of those things.

I haven't bought it, and I can't say for sure if I'm right as I didn't technically "see" anything. BUT, the method appears extremely obvious.

I guess if you're in a dark bar, and people are intoxicated you might get away with it. It might even scare some people under those conditions.

I've been thinking of getting one too. I've seen it get some pretty good reactions from spectators. It really is something they are not expecting. Might some people reverse engineer it after seeing it? Sure, but definetly not when the "see" it. A lot of people jump. Looks like it'd be a lot of fun to perform.

His name is Keith Arlen Lack. You say you've been interested in it for "so" long yet you don't even know the creators name. So many young magi's today don't take the time to research. I just read another post where someone didn't know that the creator of a card slight was Dai Vernon. Keith is even a member here at the Café.

Do me a favor. Do some research on a topic before making a new post. Creature has been discussed many times before. After you research and have some knowledge on the effect, if you decide to make a new post, you wont sound so much like a novice.

Why are so many of the people here so bitter about those who don't happen to know quite as much as they do about magic? Actually, I think I know why, but I'm not going to go into it.

I apologize for being bitter. It's just that recently the Café has been going downhill. So many newer members come on and spam, post inapropriate topics, or rush through posting just to get their 50 posts so they can ask how a trick is done in the secret session. I guess it was just all my built up aggervation coming out on someone who didn't deserve it. I'm sorry Nick, no hard feelings towards you.

The videos show that you can immediately show your hands empty after the appearance, but my good old common sense tells me that is something just too good to be true in the real world. Am I correct? (Those of you who own the effect)

You can show your hands just as cleanly as you can with a TT.

Often thumbtips, because of the difference in color as compared to your skin, stick out like a sore (uh, pardon the pun) thumb.

The Creature comes in different skin tones, you need to specify when ordering.
I personally like this and even used it on a reporter when interviewed for a magazine article. It is great to do impromptu for kids too.
If you taped the Mondo Magic series on A&E last year, you will see the boys performing Creature on the street for people in one of the episodes. They show you them performing for people and their reactions before holding the creature towards the camera so the viewing audience finally sees what the spectators were seeing.

If you have not seen a demo video of creature in action, here are a couple of links to watch. Then you can decide if this is for you or not. I think it looks good myself, but not for me.

Creature. Demo video at,

http://www.murphysmagicsupplies.com

http://www.themagicwarehouse.com

Once there use the search for creature. Enjoy.

I have creature and consider it more of a gag than an actual effect.

I have a little mouse that is good for making girls scream or go "how sweet!".
This is moderately believable for a few seconds. I am guessing creature is similar but meant to be alien or something .

Roki,

I hope you're not talking about the 'ol "Mouse In The Bottom Of The Little Styrofoam Cup" are you?

That's the nastiest "trick" I've ever seen, very dirty.
