Hello Everyone!
First of all, I apologise if I'm posting this in the wrong place, but as my magic is primarily cards, I thought I would ask here! hope that's ok? As the title suggests, Im looking for a good quality, maybe even slightly unusual looking, magicians performance case, capable of holding several decks of cards, a few props of unusual size (eg John Kennedy's "Mystery Box"). Can anyone help me with a source please? I am currently using a case that used to carry a set of knives, it was stainless steel casing and looked kinda unusual, but its falling apart now! any help would be great! As always, best regards, Justin

That's a good idea weapon! Although I was after something designed with magicians in mind, do you (or anyone!) know anywhere that might be able to help me with that?
Thanks! Justin

Justin - Don't laugh - Do a google image search for "aluminum train cases!" As a close-up worker/mentalist these things are great - sturdy and they have enough different compartments/spaces to carry your stuff! I picked mine up quite inexpensively at a Costco here in the states (so, you don't necessarily have to order online).
For short gigs, a PDA case works great, as well! |

Personally, I use a mini Doctors bag, though I do know others who use a full size doctors bag, as it isn't that big. It does give a classy look and can hold quite a lot. eBay has lots of Doctors bags for sale, or there are some magic sites (Sorry, I cant remember where) that actually sell doctors bags for magicians

Hi Justin,
At Home Depot they have a wonderful steel storage case which is perfect for magic performances and is selling for $19.97. I purchased this case and have been extremely happy with it. It even contains an organizer in the lid. I just went to Home Depot's website and was able to find it. Below is a link to Home Depot and the product information. Type in "Husky Storage Case" into Home Depot's search engine at the following web site. http://www.homedepot.com ___________________________ HUSKY Husky Aluminum Tool Case Model CF-1475 Internet/Catalog 165052 Store SKU # 191 041 $19.97 __________________________ I hope this helps. Justin,
Williams Magic in Tucson Arizona has metal cases that might be what you're looking for. Emory Williams Jr., told me the case measures about 8 1/4" x 9 3/4" x 3 5/8". They are $10.00 each but they're not in their shopping cart. You would need to contact them because they're not sure how long they'll be able to get them. Their site is WilliamsMagic.com. Hope this helps, Steve |

Walmart has a great one in the tool department. Best purchase I've made in a long while. It was $16.99 CAD.
I LOVE IT. It has moveable deviders in the case and more places to put things in the lid.

The best case I've ever seen is an aluminum photo case for high-end photography equipment.
Search eBay for "aluminum photo case". They are ultra sweet, and very well made. It'll cost you around $40, but it will be a very good investment for your props and equipment.

I couldn't agree more with Kid's recommendation of a photographers kit case. Some come with slim dividers so you can move the compartments around to meet your own needs. Others come with pick'n'pluck foam rubber inserts - again so you can design the interior to your own needs with the added bonus that compartments will be the exact size to house whatever it is you want.
But beware and shop around. I've been to some conventions and magic shops where they advertise similar cases at grotesque prices because they are 'magicians cases.' They are nothing different to camera cases essentially. Ebay is a good place to begin. RK |

Hi Strider, I have met Derren a couple of times and am too as I'm sure many others are, a HUGE admirer of his work. The best time to meet him is when he is on tour, its a shame that is the only digital picture with me and him
