You may or may notice my absence from the Café in the very near future. My dad is very ill and I don't know when he will leave us, but my family seems to think very soon. so if I am not here, give me some time because these things (death of a loved one) are usually all consuming when they finally happen.

I lost my folks 10 and 5 years ago, respectively. My Dad went first. It's not easy. I dropped out of the magic club scene completely, except for keeping my memberships in the national and international organizations up. If you need to talk to someone who understands, e-mail me.

Thank you for the kind words. I did visit him in the hospital last night, an it seems that two strokes are what has taken him down.
But I do appreciate all the kindness I find here amoung my fellow magicians.

I know how you feel Daff..my old man had a stroke a couple of weeks ago.Hes still in hospital undergoing re-hab.He can understand us but has lost his speech..dysphasia.
