1KJ Inner circle Warning: We will run out of new tricks in 4385 Posts |
I have read some bad reviews and many good reviews. I recently purchased this. I also looked closely at the demo video. Perhaps a new video has been posted, but I don't see any problem with the video.
I think this is a TREMENDOUS product, and I have no affiliation with Jesse. Here are some perceived problems and comments that hopefully some will find helpful: 1. I suppose there may have been a video showing the pen logo going through the arm. That is just not the case. The current video shows that you show the blank side of the pen going through the arm. Problem solved. 2. I have heard some say that you can't show the entire pen cap as the pen goes through the arm. Uhh... yeah. Not a problem. You need to hold the tip of the cap which conceals it as you push the pen through your arm. The spectator will see the rest of the pen and cap going through your arm. Not a problem. 3. Some have said that there is something noticeable when you hand the pen out for examination. I handle this a bit differently. I have them examine the pen at the beginning with the regular cap over the gimmick. Also, I don't say "Here, examine the pen." I use the pen to do a different routine first. For example, if you don't have SpyPad, you should get it, and use this pen with Spypad. Or, just hand them the pen to write something. I don't even use the tiny gimmick. No one will ever remove the cap. If you hand them the pen with the cap on the other end, they will hand it back to you with the cap on. If you are nervous about this, then just have a paper for you to write on when they hand you the cap back. Then, switch out the pen for Greg Wilson's pointless and go into that routine. Then, hand out the pen for examination. At that point, they will be scrutinizing the pen more closely and will find nothing. 4. Some have complained the pen doesn't actually go through your arm, just "into it". OK. If you really want the pen to go through your arm, go to a Halloween store and purchase some latex skin. Make a small lump of latex skin with a black tip, surrounded by reddish skin color. Stick it on the other side of your arm or hand with double sided tape and you can now show the other side where the pen is pushing through. So, you have a choice. You can either get stuck in a little place of hate for the product or you can make this one of your more powerful effects. You choose. I choose powerful effect. For me, I would say this is highly recommended. Thanks Jessie. KJ |

I don't know if I was clear on #3 above.
I first hand out the pen for them to write something with the regular cap covering the gimmick. I then take the pen back and do the pen through arm bit. I then switch out the pen for Greg Wilson's pointless pen and do that routine. I then hand out the pen and ask them to "examine" it. This way, is appears to them that they have examined it twice. Because I am not asking them to examine it the first time, I am just asking them to use the pen, that is as good as examining it in their mind. When they examine it carefully after the switch, there is nothing to see. Also, there are two powerful routines in between the two examinations, so they don't suspect a switch. Hope that helps. KJ |
