Anyone know of a UK Copper / Silver coin?
Maybe 2p, 10p? Or whatever? |

It helps if the 2 coins are the same size, e.g. English Penny and US Half dollar.
UK coins are different sizes, but you can obtain a 10p/2p hopping halves set, if you know how this works it may answer your question! |

The older coin sets use a half crown and penney.

I think the nearest is a 2p/2 Euro coin. Eddie Gibson used to do one at: http://www.eddiegibsonmagic.com/eurocoins.htm. This site may be out of date.

Due to the fascination with size and weight ratios, UK denominations in copper/silver are not going too match in size, colour or depth.
This is why copper/silver coins tend to be coins from two countries.

You can get a 2p/10p copper silver and it works quite well. I carry mine around all of the time and use Silver Citation from Paul Cummins "Up in Smoke" at the drop of a hat (it has a good way of avoiding saying "and what's in this hand").
Note however due to the aging of the 2p's and the introduction of a newer 10p it is best to keep a matching 2 and 10 with you and use those. If you are going to borrow one of the coins, I suggest the 10p. You can get a c/s 10p/2p from Peter Crush at Presto Magic (at least he used to sell them)- the link is on the coinvanish website. Another option is to get the nest of coins from Alakazam- a whole range of gaffs in one set for £35! Cheers Shanester |
