Hi all! The last two threads that I started here at the "All Tied Up" forum seem to be getting a bit heated, so I thought that I would start a new thread that is a little more light hearted. And so I ask....Does anyone have any new escapes that he/she are working on? I haven't been working on anything new as far as "stage presentation", but I have come up with two new handcuff picks. One is made to beat the Irish 8 handcuffs. I made the pick to get around the problem of the locking spring being WAY too strong. When my old method didn't work on my new Chicago Irish 8 cuffs, then I went to work designing a new pick. The second pick is for the Chinese H&R Super Style handcuff. For those of you who have seen this cuff up close, you know the problems that they present when it comes to picking. Both of these handcuffs are avalible at handcuffwearhouse.com . The Chinese cuffs like I have are only $24.99, but the Chicago mod. 1550ss stainless steel Irish 8 handcuffs are $49.50. They both would make a fine addition to anyone's collection. Well, I look forward to your responses. All the best, Mike

Hi Mike, all I can say at this stage is I will be showing off some new items at the Cannon's Great Escapes convention this year. Be there or be square.

Hi Michael
As far as I know I am the only person to have taught the technique of picking the H&R's to the Chinese policeforce, using a method I invented myself. It is actually a bypass, rather than true picking. But as in the case of your padlock method, down right it allows the person to open the cuffs faster than with a key! I am also not aware of anyone else who has performed this escape using cuffs supplied by the local police at the time of the escape, and with the keyholes sealed. I was challenged to open the keys by the Chinese police while I was over there last, a write up of the challenge can be found here: http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......forum=18 And some photos (including me teaching the police) here: http://www.thefreakshow.co.uk/images/5.html Cheers David

David, that is an interesting little cuff ain't it? I was thinking about buying a second set so I could take one apart and study the internal locking components. I would be interested in seeing your method of by-passing this cuff. By the way, nice photos on your link. Keep up the good work! Cheers, Mike

And to answer to the real topic of the thread. I am planning to do a medival escape as a finale of my medival street show. I usually do a SJ escape with chaines but the SJ isn't that medival - is it. So I am working on another one.
I will be cuffed behind my back with a pair of Darby handcuffs (They look somewhat medival even though they are quite modern.) and then wrapped around my body with two chains. I have found some lovely padlocks that looks really old and I will use them to fasten the chains. I plan to do it as an open escape with a lot of acting to make it interesting. Do you have a better idea of what to do? /Ark

Toss the cuffs and make yourself a wrist stocks, or even a full neck and wrist stocks, with (antique looking lock) to escape from.
You might simply get a large post or beam and get bound to it with 100-feet of rope or several yards of chain. It’s very medieval.
