Had a great cabaret show last week-Good size crowd -intimate audience ready for a good time
10 mins before I was on, was backstage talking about whether to load silk to egg before I walk on or just before I perform this-(3rd effect) as it might crack in your pocket-yeah right!!!-never happened before in over 50 shows with it! So I load it before walking on & yep sure enough knock my pocket with a linking ring- That egg sure feels cold in my pocket!! Luckily didn't break in 2 -but small crack up top While applause for previous effect with assistant-I drop egg into case on chair at back-luckily as a preminition-I have a second egg ready to go ! so just pick it up from case on stage-usually its offstage!! ,pocket it-music fades & I go into routine-Huge applause & laughter at the end-I was looking upwards saying -Thank you!!!!!!!! What are the chances!!- Ive learnt a valuable lesson there!!

A day I would like to forget! (but can't , ouch!) I was booked for 1 week at a local College doing strolling magic. Everything worked ! It was great.Good weather , people etc. On the last day , last set just finished ,I was starting to pack up to leave when a couple came over. The young man said "this is the guy I was telling you about" , .. would you show her a trick? pleeese! I did , they were happy ,we chatted as I packed up. I asked of the man "is this your mother?" ... he said no , it's my wife. I just wanted the ground to open and swallow me up! I could not believe it. A great week blown away by a (thoughtless) casual question. The sun was in my eyes!! I didn't have a good look at the lady. But I died a thousand deaths over that one. And am very careful what comes out of my mouth now. Yes if there was ever a sentence I could take back that's it.

Hee , hee , too funny! No it was awful. 5 days performing , everything went well. I was 20 seconds from packed up and gone. Then that. I honestly felt sick to my stomach. Live a learn. cheers,Alan
