Well, unless you have an active venue in mind, I'd leave the upside down version alone, and work on a killer routine for the jacket on its own.

The John Novak Series "Art of Escape" has an entire volumn on the Strait Jacket, and I suggest you go there for your first steps.

There are so many hurdles to get over on this one. Insurance and a lifting device are just two of them. I think a working on a little creativity would be a far better investment of your time and energy.

Tait, I recommend a copy of Ace Starry's book, PM him for details.

Ace,
Hurdles? That's an understatement lol
I'll share this bit of Info. with Tait....
Weasel Dandaw visited Florida last month as we long planned a Male/Female Team inverted SJ escape. Well it finally happend but Murphy's Law was strongly present in the process.
" 2 days ago a Magician told me he was in the Emergency at the Hospital
for a finger injury and how long it took to be treated. He also mentioned there was a Hunter there waiting along with him to have his "Muzzle Load" injury
cared for.
I then told him that Weasel and I were inverted right in the middle of the Hunting
area on the first day of Muzzle Load hunting season. He said 'What are
you nuts?!" I said " You have to ask" Smile
(Yes Folks, we were hanging inverted in the middle of a hunting area on the First day of Muzzle loading season. The gate keeper questioned the Cherry picker and it's purpose... Aerial photos of the everglades of course Smile She let us through making us promise to stay close to the road since the Hunters are not allowed to shoot in that direction.)
I then explained WHY the hte Magician we were in that spot.
Increasingly impossible to find free space in Palm Beach County and the
event had to be out of View of Traffic for Our Liability reasons. Trust me ,,, I went through 2
months of hair pulling preperation begging people to let us use their
property for photos of this. Presenting waivers, Insurance blah blah
blah and Noooooooo way!
Liability liability!
The crane operator backed out 3 days prior to Weas's arrival saying the Crane had broken ( I believe it was cold feet). I was
At this point it was MAJOR frustration so I rented a Cherry picker and
luckily with good friends taking off work on a Monday assisted us. The Equipment rental place started debating on wether or not to allow our vehicle to pull the weight of such Rig. We won out luckily.
It was a Team effort and one to not be forgotten. and All above Gator
swamps and good Ol Boy Muzzle loading Hunters for which a Jeep full of
them drove past as we were dangling and gave the Ol' Hoot and Holler
southern style LOL! To top it all off as soon as we were there setting the equipment up the Trees surounding the swamp started to fill with Vultures. Trying to tell us something? Smile Weasel and his wife were just great about all the confusion while ready
willing and able to do what it takes for success!"
Tait... the rest is up to you my friend Smile

Cindi,

I've heard of adding an extra element of danger to an act. Perhaps next you guys should try it in the middle of a bombing range or a mine field. Too funny.

Ace,
We had'nt planned on the extra element and in fact had to put it in the back of our minds to get on with the job. Weas's wife was more concerned with the Gators, Rattlers and water moccasins. We were told it was a "enter at your own risk" hunting area and as mentioned before to stay near the road.
Sooooo whennnn we finnnnally made it up and I could hear the sound of the approaching vehicle on the dirt road all I could think was "Oh gosh the Game Warden has found us"... then when I heard "Yeeee Haaaaa" and "Woooooo Hoooo" I knew we were in the clear.

Hey Wild Man Weas... You up for a Mine Field next time? lol

Hey Cindini,

The "minefield", you have now got me thinking.

It's hard to come up with new escapes, so let's push the old ones to the limit.
