Some of the primates use very crude tools in some very clever ways but nothing to come even close to what we have. As far as I know we are the only species on our planet to leave this world and go to other planets (probes and rovers) and only Man has walked on the moon . Iven

Japan just announced that they sent a probe to the moon and took some mapping the surface of the moon type pictures. They said that they did not see any evidence of any land rover, or flags or anything else that would suggest that man had visited the moon. Food for thought!!! Have you seen the pictures from the moon? Have you seen the ones that are questionable? Hmm.... keep believing.. I know you have faith, you said so yourself!
For one to populate a planet with it's own species, I think that one would have to use what is on the planet in question and utilized it's own resources. Man would have had to have his DNA mixed from the creatures on the planet. Helps in dealing with diseases and such. That is why we share 98 % of chimpanzees DNA, but if you were to give the chimp our 2 % of our DNA that they don't have, it still would not make a human out of him. Proteins is where the difference is! They are working on the mapping as we speak. Considering the vast distances between the planets and the time it takes to travel to and from those and others, I doubt that we will be flying around like they do in Star Trek. And who is to say that other planets, if they did exist with lifeforms, use the same technology as us to communicate or even travel? There is another food for thought, in our dimension, we are alone? Doesn't mean that in other dimensions that life doesn't thrive. The problem being we need to find out how to jump dimensions! Harmonic Vibration anyone? |

Has anyone else ever considered that the human race may be little more than a semi-advanced species of mammalian roach worming it's way through the substructure of the universe; consuming & upsetting everything in its path? Sooner or later, the rest of the universe is gonna get wise and put out one heck of a big Ape Motel! Oh wait! Maybe they already have...and they set it in orbit around a star named Sol! Hmmmmmmmm...could this be Alpha Centaurian for "Raid"?
Just a thought from a sleep-deprived brain...where's my coffee? }:o/ Skip

On the subject of "alien", it seems our culture is not doing too well at accepting other frames of reference, contexts or ethical views. All are considered alien and the best we seem to do is "tolerate" such things.
Tolerate? Implied in that term is the incorrectness of the "other". I can't see us having constructive interactions with intelligent life from elsewhere till we can go from tolerance to acceptance and respect of other peoples here.

Look at the mentality of people that pursue the Sasquatch. They want one for their museum.

I believe in Sasquatch too. Its not like its a monster or anything, its just a animal.
Just because not everyone has seen one, the government refuses to believe they exist. Just think about it. About 2 years ago, some Japanese people caught a fish that was supposed to be extinct for millions and millions of years. Fishers even once pulled up a Sasquatch from the water. The only reason they got rid of it is because it stank. |

Easy to believe : That in a vast universe there are other forms of intelligent life.
A little harder to believe : Given that certain limits in physics appear to be holding, that faster than light travel is possible and/or interstellar travel is viable without faster than light travel. Impossible to believe : That a species capable of the advances required to flit about the universe would a) have an inordinate fondness for people who live in trailer parks b) have no other means of gaining information about this planet than by kidnapping people and sticking things up their bottoms.

It is known that spiders can leave the earths atmosphere, I would hate too think they did this 50 million years ago and now are coming back.

The Van Allen belt around the Earth is ment to keep us grounded... never to leave Earth. Sure we can send spacecraft to other places, but man seems to be too fragile to take the journey.

My fav. show - The X Files - conveys the truth is out there! I want to believe! And I'm waiting to see an UFO in my life time. In the meantime, I'm going to keep looking UP.

I saw a U.F.O. once.
I was all excited about it too, until I started studying science and found out what it really was.

ANOTHER SIGHTING
In 1997 I moved my family to a different town, North Adams Ma. which is where we are still residing. We didn't have any help while moving, all of my so called friends suddenly had very important things to be doing instead of helping me move my entire house...I'm still a little bitter about it, but, forgive and never forget I always say, hehehe. While me and my wife were unloading the U-Haul and humpin' all our stuff up a couple flights of stairs and into our new apartment with an awesome view overlooking the entire town... I suddenly realized I needed a smoke break, it was around noon and I was standing in the living room. I went right up to a window which overlooked the whole town of North Adams and was absolutly enjoying the very wide panoramic view, when I noticed a shiny object in the shy, I watched it for about 20 or 30 seconds. There was not a cloud in the sky. At first I thought it was a kite, or one of those mylar balloons, because when the sunlight would reflect off of this object, it would shine like it had a mirror finish. All of a sudden it darted off very fast, at one point I couldn't see it and then it was in another part of the sky. I called for my wife to come and check it out, she did. We went out onto the balcony to have a clear unobstructed view, it was still in the sky. It looked like a round shiny, highly polished...thing. Then it changed shape into an elongated diamond shape and looked as if it was flipping end over end. It seemed to vanish and reappear in another part of the sky far off to our left. This object moved around the sky in the same manner for about 2 minutes...my wife and I were both speechless the entire time...then it seemed to have shot staright up into the sky and was gone. From what we saw, it was flying around in the sky for what must have been at least 20 miles in each direction. To this day she'll agree, there was something in the sky that neither one of us could explain ourselves and yes I'm not insane, she saw the exact same thing I saw...so that was a comfort in itself. :):) And once again it was in the same direction as the last sighting I posted. johnny

A fellow on a recent TV show said something to the effect that the amount of fuel, as we know it, that would be required to travel to Earth from a distant planet or star would be a tremendous amount. The size of the space craft would have to be truly immense. This is to say nothing about other supplies that would be required for sustaining life, etc.
The nearest star to Earth, except the Sun, is just over four light years away. This means that if traveling at the speed of light it would take over four years to reach us. It took Spirit Mission 92 Earth days and it landed when the distance between the two was 123.5 million miles. A trip to Mars at the speed of light would take about 10 minutes. Is it possible they have an energy source that would allow inter-galactic travel? Are they from the Moon? Inside Mars? Could they have been here on Earth for millions of years? Inter-dimensional? Are we the only aliens here? |

I've heard that too Johnny but it has been debated that artificial time travel is not possible. If you were to go back into the past and save your dead cat from being hit by a car 2 years ago, then there would be no reason for your other self (yourself 2 yrs younger) to do the same thing you just did because the cat's alive. Then you would have a paradox on your hands and you would destroy the space-time continuum. I'm cross-eyed now....I'll be back when my brain is in normal mode again

I've seen two U.F.O.'s in broad daylight at a close distance...I'm not saying they were from another planet or anything, just that I could not identify them. They were an awesome sight, for sure. I've seen a few others at night, also not saying they had space creatures aboard...BUT it's all been a nice ice-breaker at parties.
There are a lot of "sightings" in this area...so common, in fact, that we will discuss it among ourselves (the "locals") but don't talk about it much otherwise. I live in the real-life "Mayberry" and if there's someone "out there" to get me out of here, then LAND, ****it, LAND! |
