Please forgive me if this question has been asked before, but:
What are the essential books on Escapology?
Please note that the bowl at the back of the church labeled 'for the sick' is for monetary donations ONLY.

Try this - not only are there some great books, but elsewhere on the site is a TON of escape related merchandise.

I am not very experienced with escapes, but the books that I found most helpful were the John Novak books. There are seven of them; I started with one or two that looked like they would help with things that I wanted to do. I ended up getting all of them. The Hades' Expanded Encyclopedia of Escapes has some good basic information on a wide variety of escapes, and Burling Hull's 33 Rope Ties and Chain Releases is also very good.
The hardest thing about escapes, for me, was the presentation. Books are only going to be so much help here, as you will have to discover what is best for you. Having said that, I learned quite a bit about presentation from two books, Santini's Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Entertaining with Escapes and Jensen's Publicity Stunts. The latter is especially helpful in learning how to manipulate the newspapers. There is a really marvelous collection of free information about presentation here at the Café. Mark Tripp has been especially generous with presentation ideas. Let us know how it goes! Yours, Paul |

Does anyone own a copy of 'Concealments' by Santini? If so I'd like your opinion on this book.
Thanks Harry |

I would say Concealments is one of the most useful manuscripts I've managed to get my hands on.
You will also want to try to get hold of Interchange, also by Santini. Head over to http://www.ealib.org/booksnew.htm to check these and other books out. RW

I've just remembered that a while ago I wrote a review on this here on the Café. You can check it out http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/searc......=4156858
If you do a search on other escape books I've written a review for a lot of them. I know that I covered all the Bigelow manuscripts, but I can't remember what others I've done. Hope this helps. RW

One would be very foolish not to secure a copy of Concealments if they had a chance. This book is the real deal, and the secrets, work. If houdini was alive, I could make a mint selling him one page at a time..... Its that good.
...think not that all wisdom is in your school. You may have studied other paths, but, it is important to remember that no matter who you are or where you come from, there is always more to learn.
