Hey guys,
I am trying to get up with a Christian organization in my area, who is doing a disaster relief trip in the beginning of October. From the sounds of it, there will be little time for anything but work. However, there always seems to be a few minutes down time here and there no matter where you are or what you are doing. Anybody got any ideas for simple stuff that "Really" packs flat, as I believe we are allowed very little baggage, at all. I figure a little distraction would be a very good thing under these conditions. I know when I was in similar situations in the past, any distraction (aside from the people who ocassionally shot at us) would have been extremely appreciated. I'll be taking a Photog's vest, the type with a bazillion pockets, so I'll have a little space to carry things, although about half a bazillion of them are already spoken for, as I have a standard group of non magic goodies that have a permanent home there. Usually I do magic for Childrens church, so 99% of my stuff isn't relevant here. I'm interested in magic with a message(just in case the opportunity presents itself), and/or just about anything else, as I said, something to give a little distraction/tension relief. Well, I am open for ideas, Help!!! Thanks Guys God Bless Steve Ps I am an old Army guy, and I mean no offense to any ladies who might read this. The term "Guys", to me, is genderless(old army guy definition). I used to call all my young troopies guys. Old habits die hard. PPs Pray for the disaster victims, and me as I try to go and do something to help. PPPs I once heard of a minister who had spent years in India (I believe) preaching, and he came back to states and was staying with friends. They went to a restaurant one evening and when it was time to go, they called there children, saying"come on guys lets go" . The Minister broke into laughter, and when asked why, replied that in India (or wherever he was from, now I'm even more uncertain where ) Guys refers to cattle. Guess it all depends on usage and acceptance. |

Thanks Paul
I appreciate the ideas, I've got the sponge balls, TT & silk. I also have parachute cord, which I guess would work for thin rope, although I am not familiar with "through needle's eye" , does Doc Haleys handle this? I'm familiar with Doc Haleys, but haven't doe much business there since Doc died. Guess I need to revisit a good resource like this. Thanks again Paul God Bless Steve Ps I may have hit a snag today. I am in the midst of getting my disability rating upped by the VA, and I am going to have to go back to Winston Salem (I just love being poked and prodded) but it may be in the middle of the trip I am trying to go on. Seems strange that I can find out that the VA wants to do an exam, but I can't find out when. Even stranger, to me, is that my "veterans rep" said that the info was sent out on the 7th of september, but I shouldn't recieve it for another 2-3 weeks. What kind of Black Hole does this mail have to go thru to reach me ? Oh well, such is the way of the Government, can't control it, but maybe I'll still get to go. Help me pray about that also. I'd really like to help. God Bless Steve |

"eye through needle" - isn't a packet gimmick - don't know what it is called but it is the trick where you thread a piece of rope through a small loop (action like threading a needle) - looks impossible, esp when you tie a know on the end to make it more difficult - the knot is obviously larger than the hole but it is simple if you know the trick. Used to illustrate the idea that with man it looks impossible but with God all things are possible. it can be used with pretty thin rope so it is very handy and takes up very little space in my pocket.
Have a great time and be a blessing!.
Many Blessings!!
