Hi Jugglers
I would love to learn some new drop lines, because at my age they have become a big part of my show.
1. Sometimes jugglers miss tricks for dramatic effect.
2. That's ok I'll get it.
3. Quick hand it to me before someone notices.
4. It's all part of the show, the floor show.
5. That's the first time that has ever happened.
6. See what effect you have had on me mam.
Does anyone have a drop line or two to contribute?

Ladies and Gentlemen...it's a floor show...

I meant to do that!

Ladies and Gentlemen...it is okay...the laws of gravity have not been defied...which when you think about it is a wonderful thing to make yourself asure of!

Well...so much for the amazing floating [dropped object] trick!

Ladies and Gentlemen...I have magically made the floor rise to the [dropped object]

Wouldn't you know it! It really looks like those 22 years in juggling school paid off! (roll eyes)

They said it would happen one day.......and it did!

Look at them, look at them, how they fly...oops...now look at them, look at them...on the floor they lie!

I knew I should not have shook hands with the tin man before the show...he got oil all over my fingers and look what it made me do!

It happens...just like life...all the sudden you are high and mighty in the air...and next thing you know...you're just laying their...in the gutter...

(juggling a bunch of stuff and an item is dropped) You should see me do this while actually trying!

1. (Courtesy of Steve Rawlings) *** you Newton!
2. (to the right sort of audience) That hasn't happened since I was 13!
3. That's my best trick, it's called 'the drop'.
4. (gets big book out of prop bag called 'how to juggle' and pretend to read it upside down)
5. Did anyone notice that sudden gust of gravity?

That should do for a start, if you do a google search in newsgroups (particularly in rec.juggling) you will find several lists of drop lines.

Remember if you're not dropping your not learning!

I sometimes drop one on purpose, point to it, and yell, "Bad ball, Baaad!!!," as if it was a bad dog.

Ok, sometimes it's not on purpose. Smile
Humans make life so interesting. Do you know that in a universe so full of wonders, they have managed to create boredom. Quite astonishing.

Look at the ball and say, "Stay! Good boy." Then turn to the audience and say, "Don't laugh, it took me 2 months to teach it that."

I was working outside on Saturday and it was freezing. My drop lines were "It must be cold!" and "Has anyone seen a monkey?" I wonder if these translate to other English speaking countries?

Nigel

The phrase is "It's cold enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey!" and despite what you might think refers to a pile of cannon balls on board a ship.

~yell "GRAVITY TEST!"
~ Pointing up " Look, a monkey!"
~look at whatever you dropped, shrug say " Hey, sometimes I mess up, no big deal."

Honestly I try to stay away from the cheezy lines, I tend to be comical, but very heartfelt in what I do.
If I drop a club, ball, chainsaw, knife, etc. I admit that I screwed up and go on with my show.

I know this is an old topic, but I'd like to kick it back up... I know you guys have stumbled across some new drop lines. Lets hear em! Smile

Here are some:
-"Just checking if gravity still works" Drop the remaining items one by one "Yep".
-Look at the dropped item "Oh, forgot to change the batteries" Go behind your table or in your bag for 2 seconds, and come out with the same item and start again.
-"You have no idea how many balls I've had to execute".
-"It's a ritual of mine. I drop a ball everyday at" (Look at watch/mime looking at watch) "(Say time)".

Anyone else got any? =]
