I did not know you juggled. It is quite a surprise to see you here, so you want to put peoples lives in danger, and look for a laugh. HMMMMM Matt baby you have pushed the envelope a little too far I think, but it is good to see you here with us gravity fighters my old friend, and I suggest that you stick to scarf juggling for now. Red Ryder had a great idea. After his first successful trick he pulled out a large trophy for himself. After every drop he put the trophy back in his bag and pulled out a smaller one. Very funny.

That is funny.
I think most drop lines are crap. When using bounce balls if I drop one and recover it when it bounces I smile and say. "that looked good didn't it...almost like I didn't mess up" and laugh. You need to have a Sh*t grin to make it funny though. Anton |

Yehh I juggle a little Al, mainly just do the circus workshops with what I know. I should work on my juggling, I should put more time into it so I might be able to do more than just some basic tricks! Its one of those things for me that I wanted to learn but never wanted to advance it it. Don't get me wrong I love watching great jugglers but practicing juggling just drives me insane. I know eventually I can probably get any card move down in a few months, but some juggling things seem to take forever!
My friend Paul is one of the best jugglers in the UK if not in the world. He's up against Garfield ect in the competition over here. I watch him and get inspired, then go home and try...and cry! Man the things he can do! He doesn't even have any lines! Serious! I was kidding about the fire, I use "knives" to juggle over my speccy. I mainly work inside on stages so its not easy getting permission to use fire. I want to do a blindfolded version with fire eventually, but we'll have to see. I would need a GOOD line if I dropped it, and GOOD insurance of coarse. LOL, Al your idea has actually made me laugh. Build it up as soon dangerous feat of juggling blindfolded over someone...really big it up for the finale and juggle scarfs over them...ha! Would be pretty funny. Might drop on there face and have to stop the show due to a serious injury! M:C |

I have said this before, but it bears repeating when you are surrounded by jugglers better than you there is an unexplainable osmosis effect that makes you juggle over your head. I also noticed when I did standup in comedy clubs, being around professional comedians made me write better jokes, so just practicing juggling at home will usually give you a feeling of frustration. HAVE FUN Alfonso

Matt,
I'm confused, which is the world level juggler called Paul? I can name one great UK juggler who competes with clubs (Toby Walker), two UK ball jugglers who are amongst the best in the world (Ben Beever and Peter Bone) and one ball bouncer (Ben Jennings). There are other good UK jugglers but none that I know who can compete at a sports level with Jason et al. There are many UK jugglers who could happily compete at the intermediate and junior levels but that isn't equivalent to the 9 ball/7 clubs level. Nigel Best advice to a new juggler, practice, practice and practice some more. If you aren't naturally talented then learn a skill that no-one else does. It's worked for me.
I knew a man who kept saying "pliers, pincers, scissors". He was speaking in tongs.

I don't actually know his surname, he's been in many circus's. He doesn't enter many competitions as he's usually training for his tightrope stuff. I'm not even sure if he competes as Paul. I'll ask him next time I see him. He does clubs, rings and balls. As in competent in most areas of circus skills.

Matt,
A good line for you will be...If I do happen to drop one of these knives you can sue and win all this crap (point to props). Also you can use this old standby. This is the world most dangerous trick and the worlds most nervous assistant. Anton |

A number of years ago I was the volunteer for a street performer, who at one stage in his routine shuffled over me juggling knives whilst I was lying down.
