Depends on how you like to handle the deck (cutting and shuffling wise)
and my advice, get a regular stripper deck cheaper as you will "burn" lots of packs practicing! (meaning not the black tiger deck!ok it's a cool looking deck and you wanna look cool just like brad...but...) for the price of 1 you can get 2! and sometimes 3! get the cheap ones (compared to the black!) practice practice and practice! cheers

To answer your question...the difference is a hindu is gimmicked on the long side, while the belly is gimmicked on the short side...its a matter of taste really...but the hindu is the more commonly used

I thought belly strippers were an entire pack scalloped on the long sides except for the cards you want to be able to strip out at any point (like the aces). Therefore they are not subject to the problem of the pack being reversed and ruining your effect.
I am pretty sure belly strippers refer to this kind of "work" on a card, especially in gambling terminology. |

I recommend the hindu. IMHO, it's easier to strip out cards.

Belly strippers look better IMO. Once you practice with them, they actually end up being easier to handle.

Thanks everybody for the advice. I will go with pkg on this one because it is very expensive for me to order from overseas as there are no magic stores in romania.

Be careful that your wife doesn't overhear you talking about 'spending money for a belly stripper'!

Thanks again for the advice pkg.
some people just don't realize how fortunate they are from this point of view. it's easy for them to get all the stuff they need. faster and much cheaper than we do . regards , -Matt

I did not mean to laugh or make light of your plight. Belly dancers and strippers have a unique meaning here and the term "Belly Strippers" seems almost obscene. Stevens has a device advertised to cut strippers and belly strippers and make your own decks. That might be of interest as that would save on future postal problems if you can make it yourself. Just a thought and apologies again.

Matt,
Don't take what RLFrame said too seriously, he's being very much of a gentleman and apologising. Sometimes over the Net, humor gets very misinterpreted, I should know, been in a few misunderstandings myself over the years here at the Café'. That being said, I've learnt alot, made many friends and met lots of nice guys, RLFrame's reaction to your post (info-wise and manners-wise) closely resemble how they would react. I live in Singapore and rest assured I know how you feel about how some people have only but to walk 10 minutes before reaching their magic shop. It's painful to know that you don't have that same advantage. Although in Singapore we have magic shops, the variety, quality and stock don't match up to what's available in the US. I do frequent them, but only to say 'Hi'. Now, if you're having problems with getting stuff cheap, as an international buyer, I suggest you check out: http://www.magicproshop.com and http://www.mjmmagic.com These are 2 sites, that thru constant e-mailing and service from them, I have found to be realiable and reasonably priced, so you won't get jiffed too much about shipping costs. To top it off, the people who manage the said sites are very approachable and extremely helpful to any who seek their help. I receive nothing for advertising the sites above, I'm just speaking from my own experiences. So if you are looking for good, reasonably priced magic with low shipping costs, check out the above sites. Hope all is well in Romania and welcome to the Café'. Take care, Logan

Hello,
If you want to know strippers, why don't you go to a striptease? Just kidding. Get a copy of "GREATER MAGIC", and learn many kinds of strippers. |

I would vote for http://www.magicproshop.com peter is an extremely friendly guy, and
http://www.hocus-pocus.com and matt do what I am doing, only asking for my items to be shipped using UPS/ARAMEX/DHL etc etc....causes STUPID amounts of money, but you wont risk getting ur stuff lost somewhere in the post (or some stupid custom officer playing with ur gimmicks/dvds etc etc)

Matt,
Choose wisely, it's ok, take your time. Make the order worth it. For me, every magic order is a big thing and I really take my time in choosing, reading reviews, etc. You don't wanna muck up an online international order just because you were hasty. That way, when you DO order, regret is the last thing you'll feel when you open the package.
