Ok, I decided a few weeks ago to make the Bengals my team this year. I mean since I am in LA and have no home team I can pick any team I want.
I should have posted this 2 weeks ago since they are now sitting at 2 & 0 but I figure it is still a bit risky coming out of the closet and admitting to being a long distance Bengal fan!
But I will state it for the record, anyways.
Watch out the Bengals are for real!! Going to go all the way baby!

Here in Indy land the big talk was about Sunday's lousy game. At the groundbreaking for the new stadium this week Peyton Manning showed up and joked that he'd make more touchdowns in the new stadium than he did in the last game.

Sorry, GlenD, but I don't think we're jumpin' on the Bengals Bus yet.

My cousin used to play for the Bengals, #69 Tim Krumrie.

I saw him play the raiders in LA 2 times. He broke his leg in the Super Bowl againest the 49ers.

Oh no, the Godfather says I am wrong! You're probably right but I will stick with the Bengals this year and see how it all turns out.
And I remember Krumrie... did he play when Munoz was on the team ? I don't remember. I remember the Icke Woods shuffle, the dance that started a celebration fad. Of course the NFL (no fun league) had to implement harsh penalties for all displays of human emotion in a physical game. But I digress...
Go Bengals, the team with THE coolest uniform too!

Being from Northern Ohio, I've been a Browns and Indians fan all my life. It's become rather comforting knowing that I don't have to fuss with all that playoff and championship stress year after year.

Get ready to be stressed out on both Baseball and basketball this year, SKip.

And maybe next year it will go well with football too!

But all in all, we have cleaned up the professional teams, and no longer have Phil Seghi and Gabe Paul trading away the future for a tomorrow that never came, or Ted Stepien making a joke of the Cavaliers uniforms, and their coach, and who can forget the days of cheap skate Art Model, firing Paul Brown and making other stupid decisions until he decided he needed to sneak out of town to Baltimore. Good riddance to him, and the bad judgement that brought Butch Davis to town.

So now that we have some decent team ownership, and repired teh organizations, Norther Ohio will be back in sport big time. Can you say World Series, Nba Championship and Super Bowl Champions???? Not all this year, but finally, "Wait till next year" means hope for tomorrow, instead of desperation today.

From your mouth to ESPN's ears. Now if my adopted hometown NHL team, the Carolina Hurricanes, can top their 2002 performance...we may be onto something here!

Did anybody hear that? The sound of the wheels falling off of the Bengals Bandwagon?

Man, I'll tell 'ya, living here in central Ohio, as a Browns fan, it is amazing at all the 'new' Bengal fans I see around here. Bengal hats, Who-dey shirts, Carson Palmer jerseys. And all with the tags still on them!

Well, the Bengals have lost two in a row and look like they are back to their old selves. Ah, it's all good.

Why, do you know, I saw a whole Bengal family at the library last week. That's not right. That dad should be arrested for child abuse I tell you. Making a kid wear a Bengals jersey. You know the kid got beat up at school wearing that thing!

Go Browns! We got win number six today, and things are definitely looking up for us!

At the beginning of the season some nice fellow (a bookie) gave me a million to one odds that the Yankee’s would win the Superbowl, so I put a 100 bucks down…

Browns fan ? Wow, am surprised to hear someone admit to that after all you guys been through. Good luck though.
I keep looking up and down the playoff schedule and danged if I just don't see Cleveland Browns on it anywhere. Somebody must have made a big mistake! unless...

Anyways, Bengals own the Steelers and are going to make it to the championship game at the least.

Glen-

Bengals own the Steelers? Steelers are favored by 3 IN CINCINNATTI and as a wild card team playing the divisional winner. That speaks volumes.
Great season for the Bengals. I'm going for Pittsburgh. May the better team win.

Hey, I wasnt talking about who's favored or what makes sense, I was only talking about MY opinion and that's all that counts! j/k
Besides being the underdog is usually a good thing, ask the Longhorns. No, nevermind.

You have every right to crow. You posted this in September and I can't recall the last time the Bengals won the division (late 80's ?)
Steelers will have their work cut out for them. Bengals air attack is potent and that's how you beat the Steelers.
I just do not want to see the Patriots in another S.B.

I agree with you about the Patriots! But here they are and I am afraid, very afraid.

Colts finally have a decent defense. They're already a machine on Offense. With home field advantage throughout, they will be tough to beat. But they do have that "unable to win the big game label" on them. We'll see.
The Pats scare me because you can never underestimate the heart of a champion.
I wish they would just go away.

Last time the Bengals were in the play-offs was 1990, only fifteen years ago. That's not a bad record. One play-off appearance every fifteen years. Maybe they should change their name to the Haley Comets!

Yes, I am a Browns fan. Always have been, always will be. I was in the Stadium for the Drive! Oooh, now that brings back some bad memories. Anyhow, I hate the Bengals and I hate the Steelers. It just that the Bengals have been so bad for so long, they are supposed to be bad. I just can't root for them as an organization, although I don't have anything against Carson Palmer or Marvin Lewis. Heck the Browns almost hired Marvin, but settled on Butch Davis. That was brilliant.

But look at it this way, too. The Browns were out of the NFL from what, 1996-1999, and they still won more games during that period than the Bengals!

If I was a Bengals fan I would be very worried. Your defense is terrible. Sterling Sharpe said on ESPN last Sunday night that the Bengals defense retired right before Dick Vermeil announced his retirement!

They are certainly not going into the play-offs on a high note (except for Chris Henry who got busted for marijuana posession)! They have lost two in a row, which cost them a bye-week. And now they have to face a Pittsburgh team that has the capability to run the ball down their defensive throat.

I've watched the Browns play the Bengals and the Steelers, and just watching it, there is no doubt in my mind that Pittsburgh is better. I just can't see the Bengal defense getting the job done. The Bengal defense has feasted on turnovers this year. Well, dinner's over. It could be a long day for their defense.

And I know that Cincy has the homefield advantage, but don't forget the advantage that Pittsburgh has: play-off experience. They say it makes a difference. We'll see on Sunday.

Hopefully, all the games this weekend will be entertaining.

One more thing. If Cincinnati loses Sunday, they will have ended the season with a three game losing streak. The Browns have more wins in 2006 than the Bengals!
