What other source is there for bar bets and those kinds of things, other than Dan Harlan's "Wanna Bet" series?

Paul Zennon's 100 ways to win a tenner (£10) is great.
I also hear Todd Robins has a video out. Look in the Café on Believe it or not or in the special guests area.

Will you walk into my parlour? said the Spider to the Fly,
Tis the prettiest little parlour that ever you did spy;
The way into my parlour is up a winding stair,
And I've a many curious things to show when you are there.

Oh no, no, said the little Fly, to ask me is in vain,
For who goes up your winding stair
-can ne'er come down again.

Simon Lovell has a video out called "Five'll Get You Ten"

Actually, that reminds me of something I've been meaning to ask ever since I saw that on sale - what sucker bet does that phrase come from?

Stephen,

I don't think it's from a particular sucker bet. It's just odds. People like to think they are getting long odds. Five'll get you Ten just means you win, you double your money.

As Shell Game operator or Monte Thrower might say.

"If you have nerve, then you'll win plenty.
Five'll get Ten and Ten'll get you Twenty"

As part of their speil.

Doc Eason uses the "five'll get you ten" line as part of his patter for three card monte. It can be seen on his Bar Magic DVD Vol 1.

The interesting thing is that you could play three card monte or the shell game legit and still make money with the 'five will get you ten' because this is not based on the true odds. It should be five will get you fifteen.
