I am working on Paul Curry's linking and unlinking of ropes. I have been playing with using the same color rope to do the routine and I am also using different color ropes to see if the linking looks better. Am I wasting time?-- and will the audience get the idea of linking using the same color ropes ? Will using different colors help in the visulization?

Thanks for any advice

Depending on your situation (stage, parlor, walk around, etc), then colored ropes may or may not be a good thing. If youre doing them on stage, it may be a little harder for the audience to see 2 white ropes inside each other. If you were to use a darker color (deep red, blue, black, etc) and a light color (yellow, white, etc), then it would be a little more visual. If you're doing parlor or walk around, then I would stick with white on white.
Just my 2 cents...

I have a linking rope routine. It uses one white and one red rope.
That is the way it came. The audience has no problem seeing the effect.

The only problem I have with colored rope is the limitation it puts on building a routine instead of just doing tricks.

How do you solve the transitition problem. (Besides that, I give the rope to my volunteer at the end of the routine.)
