I would have to say that my favorite are the seven put out by lennart green, I also think that the cultural xchange series is very good as well. However I have found it to be what you wish to learn should dictate what to buy, I love sleights and anything that is knuckle busting, these dvd's that I have mentioned offer that and that is why I love them.

There are only four effects on that DVD, and the overly quality of them is very poor. Generally, when involved in discussions, if you tell somebody their argument is bad, you should say why that may be the case with some counter argument or other point of your own. Without that, I can only assume that you've never seen Born to Perform, or at least you haven't seen any of the other really good videos that are out there to compare it to. |

I have Born to Perform. I think it's great. The trick Ultimate Transpo was a trick called here then there, but with a different name. It is a classic and it appears in many different places such as I think #8 in the etmcm dvd set. Can we not talk about this in an open forum so everyone has to see our conversation please?

The whole point of an open forum is that it's open, and there's a free exchange of opinions and ideas. It would be silly to think that that had to happen through PMs. Just because you're seeing things that you disagree with doesn't mean it's inappropriate.
I totally believe you think BTP is great, especially if you don't many other, better sources to compare it to. I think it is subpar, and I think Oz Pearlman is a subpar talent. But big deal. We can disagree and both still have valid viewpoints. Isn't it better to be open-minded and find out what other viewpoints are out there, other than your own opinion? I know that's certainly why I check this board out... |

Born to Perform was the very first card DVD I ever purchased. That was before I understood why buying from Penguin was bad (VERY BAD). It is an excellent teaching tool for a beginner. It enabled me to determine if cards were for me, and it is absolutely PERFECT FOR THAT.
If you are new to cards, get this DVD FIRST! It is very well done and will either provide a good sampling of the tools that will encourage you to move forward with cards, or it will enable you to make an intelligent decision that cards are simply not your kind of magic. It is money well spent, and I still refer to it on occasion, and still like it. If you are new to cards, DO NOT PASS THIS UP! Since then, I have purchase all of Daryl's (simple, strong, proven), Lennart Green's (simply awesome, and a little twisted), Michael Ammar's (simple, strong, proven) stuff, and I have a new perspective on card magic. But I still respect my OZ purchase. |

Daryls Encyclopedia for me. Absolutely everything and more you'd want to know about cards.
