I'm doing a hanging sj escape and was wondering how to add rain?

like if youve seen dog eat dog they have rain from a machine How would I create this and would it be worth it?

The same thought went through my mind. If it's rain you want, try Lancashire (just North of Manchester!)

I would not do this with a wet SJ.
That is if you are using an ungimicked one.
The water will make the SJ heavier and harder to manage.
Good luck.

Ok ill confess... mine is gimmicked but its an end of sleeve gimmick and I never use that so it is basically ungimmicked!

but I thinkk the water would help with the WOWnes (best word I could think of)

Where could I find this and I'm not gonna have some guy spraying me with a fire/garden hose hahaha

I want something good

I think rain is not the answer. Unless you get the local Fire Department to spray you with their hoses. Then of course you have the problem of getting the audience wet!

You also need to convince the audience that a wet SJ is more difficult to get out of than a dry one. The next thing they would think is that you have treated it somehow with a waterproof solution, maybe on the inside of the jacket.

If you want to use water, why not go the whole hog and re-create one of Houdini's most difficult escapes? Get youself tied to an old hospital bed with cotton bedsheets, and then have them doused with warm water. This will then shrink around the knots and tighten them up. Harry had problems with this, and there's no easy way out.

Rather you than me!!!

Personally I don't think a wet SJ has the "WOW" factor you think it has.

The wet strait jacket is extremely difficult to pull off. I've tried it in a swimming pool and almost drowned. I suggest a lot of practice before you do it hanging. Also you may want to coat the inside of the strait jacket with something that makes it slide or repel water. I've never done that, but I think it might be worth a try. You'll find they really stick to your body, like glue.
