I'd be willing to bet $5 that this thread will be even bigger than the TV themes thread. What are your favorite movie themes?!? Right now, mine is Ghostbusters. I LOVE that song.

If nobody else responds, we all get $5! Stop the thread!

At the moment, I'm a big fan of the Robots score...so I guess that's my favorite for now. Hmm...I also love "This is Halloween" from "Nightmare Before Christmas."

The Oogie Boogie song is also really terrific.

BTW I bet the $5 with my Iguana, so she'll get it if this thread doesn't continue.

"Superman!" And they are using the same theme for the 2006 "Superman Returns" film. Smile

"The Aquarium" by Camille Saint-Saens at the beginning of Terrence Malick's "Days of Heaven" is super-fantastic.

Darrow, you beat me to it.

2001: A Space Odyssey "Thus Spake Zarathustra" by Richard Strauss

Open the door, HAL.
Will you walk into my parlour? said the Spider to the Fly,
Tis the prettiest little parlour that ever you did spy;
The way into my parlour is up a winding stair,
And I've a many curious things to show when you are there.

Oh no, no, said the little Fly, to ask me is in vain,
For who goes up your winding stair
-can ne'er come down again.
