These are handcuffs developed and made by Mark Cannon of “Cannon’s Great Escapes”. They are standard handcuffs that have a longer length of chain added (seven links rather than the standard two). Mark has applied a very old principle in a very clever manner.
Please note that the Hocus Pocus photo sequence is misleading. The action (release) must be covered. This prop is a great replacement for the "Spirit Tie" used in a séance routine. Frankly it helps speed up the routine getting past the dead time used in tying. It takes no time at all to apply these cuffs as compared to the tying sequence in most of the popularly sold routines. Frankly, the cuffs bring the routine up to date. If you are interesting in performing a spirit cabinet routine then these are the cuffs to have. If you just want to release a teakettle then why bother?

Darn Harry, I was all reved up to pull a tea kettle out in the my show and...lol
What a weird ad, I looked at that and thought to myself how weird of an object that was to demonstate the effect even in a photo, I could think of a million other objects that might make more sense, but either way it is irrelevant to the product, I just thought it was weird. But anyway as for the product goes, they sound like a great item espicially for spirit cabinets etc. P.

I don't know. I think you could go into a talking kettle routine. Just a thought.

I performed Cufflinks year's ago, and occasionally still do. Is the method similar?

I just took a look at the 'cuffs on HP's site.
Isn't that the same tea kettle sold on ebay that made the news because you could see the reflection of the nude photographer in it? I guess we now know who the high bidder was... ;-) Doug |

So...anyone actually played with Cannons Seance Cuffs yet? I'm so curious if anyone has seen them in action? The do sound great for seance fun...I guess it is that darn tea kettle that has put me off buying them ...but I'm close.

Alright...I answered my own question by ordering a pair of Cannon's Seance Handcuffs and I find them to be brilliant. Very clever in design and the perfect handcuff to do "spirit tie" effects. Rattle that tambourine and come blow yours horns!

Doesn't the audience hear the chain rattling when the person in the cabinet is
"manifesting" the spirit phenomenon? Woodfield |

Rattling?
Not really...the potential is certainly there of course but you would see that the handling kind of prevents it in order to quickly return to being cuffed to a pole, chair or tree...whatever. There is a video presentation for the cuffs at Cannon's...not a performance however. http://www.cannonsgreatescapes.com/New_items.html or rather... http://darkartsmedia.com/SeanceDarby.html |
