As the title says...
What is the best flash paper for a quick, bright, white flash? Not a slow orange glow! Also, where can I pick it up?? Many thanks in advance, matt |

It also helps if the flash paper you use is "fresh"...

There are at least two kinds of Flash paper, so make sure that you get the faster acting flash paper.

Also, it depends on the temp you are working in. If it is cold in the performance space the paper will react slower. The paer should be at normal room temp for the best results.

Wherever you buy your flash paper, just ask them for faster burning flash paper.
I got hold of some slower burning stuff that I bought online somewhere and recall that it said something on the label like "slower burning" or something. And when I whined to my local magic shop that I wanted make sure I got the faster buring stuff, after he said "that's what get for buying on line", he also told me that there were different flash rates of burning, If you have a local magic shop, even though you might save a small bit online, try the local guys first. Thank you kind sir. I will check them out. I just starting using flash paper and could really get addicted to this stuff. Sometimes people seem to be just as impressed with the flash as the trick.

Theatre FX is good stuff, but unless you buy the bulk pack they are not the cheapest price around. I bought my last batch on sale from Hocus-Pocus and can't tell a difference.

The faster burning stuff is called ONION SKIN. It is much thinner than regular flash paper and has a tan tint to it. I get mine from Denny and Lee!

Hi matt,
I am the Uk's no1 flash products manufacturer, I make the thinner paper that is super fast, and also I will be making the thicker paper that is a bit slower within the next few weeks. I am also going to be making a 100grm paper that we can print any image that you many require onto it. My products are shipped worldwide, and you will find my paper in most magic shops in the Uk. many thanks Adam adam@illusioncraft.co.uk |
