I'm not happy about the SF situation. I wasn't fully aware that a second person rejected magicpitch, that isn't good. I think had someone taken the ball who knows of such things because I think they could have filled three master classes here.

Thanks for posting the pick and the info on the size of the table that you should use. I use your cups and balls and beat the crap out of them. I like them. Hope all is well.

No....we just have some guys that believe that if it doesn't line their own pocket then they don't want it in the area.

Steve, truer words were never spoken. I don't know about you, but in trying to think of the last time I was able to catch a Gazzo Master Class, it has been, ahh, lets see, never. Yes, never - I can't believe its been that long! One wouldn't think it would have to be about what Gazzo would give THEM! I am not going to speak out of school here and talk about things that I shouldn't. I can tell you this though. If you treat Steve and Gazzo right, and for the right reasons, you will NEVER have to worry about what's in it for you. I will also say this; if you never get another thing other than what you learn in the master class, you're still waaay ahead of the game. Steve, I do hope you can catch the class elsewhere, I would do the Vegas class if I could afford to after this one.

I would have loved to catch it in Temecula at The Trick Shop and host Mr. Sam Blankenship (they do on line sales folks!) if I could afford it. I'm still trying to regain financial footing after a major illness for my wife over a couple years. I have no doubt they could have filled three classes in the bay area.

I am peitiioning the wife to go to the las vegas class.
I've gotten as far as .... "Let's talk about it later". Hmm..... not bad. I've heard worse. She did not flip me off, which would usually mean I get to go but she's $%#@!*! She did not say yes, so I'm still in limbo. Somebody save me a seat until further notice.

The deal I made with my wife is that I will sell all of the magic that I don't perform, to pay for the trip and the class, and since that will just about about clean out the basement, and not take anything out of the family account, she was actually happy to let me go.
Oh, and I asked her during a phone call when she was on a weekend trip with her mother visiting out of state friends, that I encouraged her to go on. So since she was on a trip, it was probably harder for her to say no. BroDavid

Hello,
I just got back from the Temecula Master Class with Gazzo. All I can say is that it was worth every single penny and them some. Both Gazzo and Steve are Gentlemen. Outstanding in every way. My fellow classmates were great fun and they were serious about learning as much as they could with Gazzo. The person who came the farthest distance was Dale who flew in from Oklahoma. If you can take the class...TAKE IT!!!! This is the BEST way to learn. You have Gazzo in front of you making sure that you UNDERSTAND why the trick is performed the way it is. He does it so well. Don't kick yourself in the butt later on. Don't say "I should have taken the class." JUST DO IT. If you are ever out in Temecula, Stop by The Trick Shop. Sam has a great shop with a lot of items that are hard to find. Thanks Sam for hosting this event. I will be buying more items from you in the future. I can't say anything more about taking this opportunity. It will make me a better performer. Take a table top that is 36 inches wide by 24 deep with a frame/high border around it so that the balls won't roll onto the floor and you will waste everyones time trying to find it. PLUS a belt. Wal-mart has a Dickies black leather belt that has two rows of holes all the way around it. Alway a perfect fit for Gazzo's pouch. It goes for $20.00. Don't bring a small table. You will get your chops busted it you do. Good Luck!!!!! Respectfully, Eddie Medrano RogueClown |

I officially cannot go.
I had already committed to something else that I cannot get out of. I will continue to mutter under my breath for the rest of the day.

Eddie mentioned Sam at The Trick Shop. He is a great supporter of the art (and I mean the art, not just his shop) and is a fine fella. He also is my producer for the review show on magicbroadcast.com and does the show Shop Talk as well as Saturday Night Sessions. Tune in this Saturday and you can call in or ask questions about Gazzos work shop on the associated chat.

Wow!
Ha ha 11 years later and I find this post that Tom Frank posted on my behalf... So, what was the Gazzo Master Class worth!? I still perform Cups and balls that he taught us, I bought his cups and balls at the time for $250. Still have them. I perform his egg bag routine almost every show, It is GREAT! Floating card, taught me to do the Mercury fold which is useful in so many other things! So, I spent $250 over ten years ago and the dividends just keep on coming! I never did perform his tossed out deck, although I look at it in it's little baggy now and then and remember that it was killer... someday... So today I emcee and host a monthly magic show in Renton Wa. that I have been doing for four years, Master Payne was at that Gazzo class I attended, and you all know what he is doing today, lecturing, writing and performing. A young girl child was at that Master class those many years ago... You know her as Billy Kid... she just was featured on Penguin Monthly. I remember he well, she knew no magic, but had just graduated from some theater arts college. She had presence and poise. So now, looking back It was money WELL spent! |

One the best lectures I attended was Gazzo. At the time I had no idea who he was. If I did I would have asked a million questions.
