Hey everyone,
I am thinking of buying the bat sometime but I'm not really sure about it. I already have the raven and It said at penguin magic you could do the same thing with a bat that you can do with a raven and more. Is the bat worth 25 bucks. Isn't it like a mini M5. Are the effects really that good and can you get creative with it?

How often do you use the raven? I've never even seen one?
Do people use these as part of a coin routine or is it just another "saw it on TV" type of thing that seems great but then
you end up just trying it out on family and friends and then just ditching it in a drawer somewhere... until more family and friends come over?

How many of you coin pros use a raven (or whatever)?
Honestly I'm asking becuase I really have no idea at all?

Curtis?
Mickey Silver?
Michael R?
Dan W?
Geoff Latta?
Tim Conover?

Anyone?
Anyone?
Bueller?

Why is it so dark in here? Helllllllllllllllllo?????

Spooky. I'm leaving.

Magic123454123, if you already have the raven, there is no need to get the bat. It is just simpily a smaller, and less powerful version of the raven.
An amatuer practices untill he gets it right, a professinal practices untill he can't get it wrong.

Don't wait for oppurtunity to knock, throw open the door, grab it by the throat and drag it inside kicking and screaming.

Magically yours

Magic123454123, the Raven or the Bat is a good start for you to get into coin magic. I guess if you are using this props means that you are pretty much a beginner correct ?

If this is the case I suggest you spend your $25.00 in a good book like Bobo Coin Magic. You will learn tons of effects with a coin than the Raven or Bat can do.

Also If you want a realy good 1 coin vanish effect I highly recommend Revolution from Ellusionist. It is beatifull, easy and no prop is required.

Good suggestion pachin.

I suggested he get Doug Brewer's "The Unexpected Visitor".
One of my favorite coin books. and a key buy.

Thanks everyone for your replies,
Yes I am just getting into coin magic. I have some books already though. And I have Jay sankey revolutionary coin magic.

SunnyDolan, I thought the bat was more powerful than the raven. I thought it was like a mini m5. How does it do all those effects if its not as powerful as the raven? What are the difference between the two?

Okay, first off, the Bat is not exactly like the Raven.
The attachment method is entirely different, and so is it's technique.
The Bat is quite simple, really. In fact, too simple, I tend to think. Especially for the price.
It is slightly more powerful than the Raven, but not much. It's the same diameter, but slightly thicker. For general PK effects, however, it's rather weak.
I don't few the Bat as a coin magic accessory necessarily, it can be used in a number of ways; but where the Raven might be fewed as a one trick pony, the bat is a jack of all trades but master of none. I tend to like my Raven more, or maybe I'm just not using my imagination enough on it.

If you really want to get into coin magic specifically, then I agree with the posts above, buy Bobo's Modern Coin Magic. That's kind of a "must have" anyway.

M5 instead of the bat (way stronger) for PK effects, vanishing items (not clean though)

Raven : clean to vanish items with LONG SLEEVES

Subterfuge : Pk effects, vanishing items, coin/poker chips productions, improptu Cups n balls/chop cup...and SO much more...SLEEVLESS or half naked if you want! CLEANEST of all in my opinion.
Double posters should be shot!

No really!!
