I have recently booked my first Bachelorette Party... impromptu loop work in bar, all screwed up, led to gig.... and it is basically going to be 8 - 12 girls for 1 hr and 1/2 max....... Now, it will be before their night begins (ie:drinking) but it will not be like a formal close-up show. Almost walk-around/table-hopping but using coffe table/restaurant table....for same group. Hard part: how to theme out my knowledge of tricks for this party. I am very knowledgable with effects....cards, sponge bunnies, IT, bar magic....sorry, very basic coin..... Any suggestions??? To what extreme do I take it.....IE: Doc Eason's "All Screwed Up" is no brainer BUT along the same lines and without very many purchases..........
Just for listing of usual effects: -Original Cards Across -Any known card sleights/effects -ACR, CTW, CTSHOE, CARD ANYWHERE(through pants FLY???) -Sponge Bunnies -Rubber Bands -Money Magic -IT/ITR Basically anyone who has done this type of event, and anyway to change traditional themes. Please help..................JPV

If the event is soon don't bother to try to learn a new theme now. You have booked it so do it as you are. Forget working in new stuff and just do the old stuff really well. The theme is kind of unimportant to this type of event. The point is to have fun. You will be overworked for 12 people at an hour and a half so pace yourself.

Danny's right, however.....and if you must...
I will say that some of these parties have male strippers, and if the ladies are in this frame of mind, some 'blue' magic like; "Ding Dong" and "20th Century Bra/Underwear Trick" may be fun. A Google for "bachelorette party" might get you some ideas as well. Some of the gags and stuff on could be incorporated into a routine. |

I'll offer a polite suggestion that will improve things immensely: please stop calling these young women 'girls'.
(Just a thought.)
