Hi all,
I live in Hawaii and was wondering if anyone could suggest some sites where I could purchase magic items / tricks with little or free shipping. Being in Hawaii the shipping cost sometimes makes the trick to expensive for me. Any help would be appreciated. thanks |

Hm, I guess a lot of people will hate me now, but I think PenguinMagic.com has free shipping.... but I´m not sure whether they will send for free to Hawaii. But you can also try magicproshop.com, who say that they don´t charge for shipment in the US.

Penguin DOES NOT have free shipping outside the U.S.
I live in France. Penguin Magic cheated me on shipping. They charged me $ 10.95 when the price of postage clearly stated on the envelope was only $ 4.00. When I complained via e-mail they replied saying "I understand your frustation" and gave me an illogical excuse. They had no reason to charge me more than what they paid. Not very ethical. I´ve never been a Penguin basher on this forum, but I just had to get this off my chest.

$10.95 shipping for $4.00 postage. Okay that does seem like a steep markup. But you should realize that the postage price is not the only thing to consider in the shipping cost. You must allow the seller some room for the cost of the box, packing foam, labels, invoice, ink, etc.
I sell a product and the cost of the postage is only half the cost of shipping. Shipping costs go down, per unit, with quantity purchases, but if you are only buying one item, shipping will be higher per unit. Retailers are in the business of making money. If they have a cost, it will be passed on to the buyer. Some places say they offer free shipping but they usually mark up the retail price to cover the shipping. Let the retailers make their money so they will be in business the next time you want to buy something. But should you get raped? No! That's where it's up to you to do a little comparison buying. The Internet has made this a very easy process. That's a lot of preaching but the main point I wanted to make is this: Don't just look at the postage price and think that is the shipping cost. THE ONLY THING YOU HAVE TO DO IS THAT YOU USE THEIR EUROPEAN WEBSITE: http://www.penguinmagic.com/europe I hope this prevent further Penguin-Bashing.... and I hope I can save you some money next time!
