Uh, I read the question and came down here to reply without reading all the posts,
but unless the materials for the wall come from outer space, it won't increase the weight of the earth at all. All the materials have just been moved from one place to another. Increase=zero

Erm, can some one point in the direction of the discussion group for magic (and more specifically, the puzzle group) on there? I seem to have found myself in a group for physics fans! ARGHHH
