What are the rules for engagement these days to protect the magical fraternity and avoid aiding EXPOSURE!!!!.....whilst also gaining the support of established magicians?

Learn the simple tricks well and learn the presitation that goes with it really well. This builds confindence and also allows for better development. Its either that or an annoying punk that keeps screaming I see two cards their to them and they get diheartened and give up. Just ask felloed magicians for tips and tricks once you purchased the trick. Personally Ellusionist.com has a brilliant setup for this. Theres forums dedicated to tricks so they can get feed back from really good magicians. From there they just got to the guts up and go for it. But only when the basics are known. I hoper this answers your querie, and hey its only my oppinion

Sometimes you must practice the misdirection more than the actual mechanics of an effect. Not exacly "moral" advice, but I just thought of it!
My ex-cat was named "Muffin". "Vomit" would be a better name for her. AKA "The Evil Ball of Fur".

Be entertaining with your magic. Don't be a bore. Don't use it to deceive, manipulate, or otherwise lead astry vulnerable people by pretending it is anything other than entertainment.
Respect magic. Don't steal the exact material from others. I don't think exposure comes into morality. Magicians like to try and involve the argument with morals because it suits their financial purpose. But in reality the arguments for free access and education are also very moral ones. |
