The best recent biography is HOUDINI!!! by Kenneth Silverman.
Also:
Houdini: The Untold Story - by Milbourne Christopher.
Houdini: The Man Who Walked Through Walls - by William Lindsey Gresham
and The Houdini Code Mystery - by William Rauscher

In my opinion ...

If you are looking for a Houdini book that the family approved the only one I am sure of is the one dictated in part to Kellock by Bess Houdini shortly after Houdini's death. However, though interesting, much of it is not true. She was very interested in keeping his LEGEND alive.

Doug Hennings book on Houdini is also very good, as well as Milbourne Christopher's Houdini, A Pictoral Life, his other fine book on Houdini. The William Rauscher book is, in our opinion, too biased. He seems not to like Houdini, but more importantly it seems the writer, is a believer in communication with the dead, which is a serious flaw in this tome. Raucher is a fine gentleman, and often a great researcher and writer, but here his own religious beliefs seem to get in the way.

We are thrilled we were able to bring The Grim Game to the world! Thanks TCM.
